Konst claims the win in Blackjack special at Gillette Thunder Speedway

GILLETTE, WY (August 1) - Dan Henrickson, Tony Leiker, and Kyle Hardesty spent their Saturday nights in victory lane, as the trio topped the WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action in their respective classes at Gillette Thunder Speedway August 1.

The headlining event Saturday was the 20th annual WISSOTA Mod Four $750-to-win Blackjack special event. Hardesty started second and spent the first half of the race in third. Working into second at the midpoint, he was then able to grab the lead from race-long leader Tracy Konst with about four laps to go. From there, he increased his lead by about 1 second at the checkered flag. Konst was second, while 10th-starter Tony Reimers finished third. Adam Neumiller was fourth, and 18th-starter Urijah Welch picked his way forward to complete the top five.

In the WISSOTA Late Models, Henrickson worked from inside the second row during the first lap and never looked back, turning in a flag-to-flag effort for the victory. Rob Hoffman and Heather Mertens were the final finishers in the field.

Tony Leiker returned the victorious favor to brother Troy Saturday in the WISSOTA Midwest Mods, as he led from green to checkered for the win ahead of his eight-starting brother - who topped Tony the previous night at Black Hills Speedway. Danny Allen, Joel Morris and Travis Soper were top-five finishers.

In the IMCA Modifieds, Adam Boggs took home the hardware, while Armando Quintero topped the IMCA Sport Compacts. In the IMCA Hobby Stocks, Craig Clift reigned above the field.
