Parks, Ferguson and Larson load ‘em up happy after Friday night fun at Black Hills Speedway

RAPID CITY, SD (August 15) - Black Hills Speedway hosted its second to final weekend of action Friday, August 15, with WISSOTA Dirt Track Series-sanctioned Midwest Mods, Street Stocks and Mod Fours on hand for the program.

Winners in sanctioned action included Leonard Ferguson, Paul Parks, and Dean Larson.

Ferguson took the lead about lap two of the WISSOTA Street Stock feature and led the remaining 10 laps for the score, his seventh at the speedway in 2025 and third straight. Troy Murner, Warren Pourier, Jr., Les Cuny and Kyle Hanson were top-five finishers.

Larson started from the front row in the WISSOTA Mod Four main event, took the lead from the initial green flag and drove off to a nearly 4 second lead at the finish. Rob Arlaud held off Tristan Torres by .017 seconds for second, while Clint Jensen and Gatlin Comer completed the top five.

In the WISSOTA Midwest Mods, Parks started from the front row and moved out to the lead ahead of polesitter Brennan Davis. Davis fell into the clutches of sixth-starter Tony Leiker and second place changed hands on about lap four. Leiker closed to .435 seconds on Parks at the finish, but didn’t have enough to get by. Parks held on for the victory ahead of Leiker, Davis, ninth-starter Darin Hauff, and Joel Morris in the top five.

Adam Speckman won in the 360 Sprints, while Eric Mass topped the IMCA Modifieds.
