Becker takes the long trek west and wins in Late Models while Petroff edges Castro in Streets at Big Sky Speedway

BILLINGS, MT (August 16) - Chad Becker made the trip west to Billings, MT for Big Sky Speedway’s Hample Memorial Saturday night and it paid off handsomely, as the South Dakota driver took home the big check in the WISSOTA Late Model feature.

Held in honor of former Late Model racer Kelly Hample, who passed away last spring from cancer, the track’s other WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action included the Street Stocks, where Robert Petroff topped the field.

Becker started in the fifth row of the Late Model feature, picking his way forward to the lead by lap 12 and building his advantage to more than 5 seconds in the closing laps to take the victory. Kelly’s son Ty was runner-up, ahead of 10th-starter Lynn Amick, Dan Henrickson and Ted Hample in the top five.

In the IMCA Sport Compact feature, Anthony Whiteman was victorious, taking the win ahead of Kyle Dalke and Chas Matye in the top three.
