Fans get to appreciate all of the action at I-94 as Saurer, Borgen, Randt & Rohner race to checkered flags

FERGUS FALLS, MN (July 3) - It was a special weekend at I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls Friday night, as it was fan appreciation night with $10 tickets and cool fireworks for the fans, plus six great classes of racing.

A nice field of 136 cars showed up for Friday’s action and WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Levi and Landon Randt, Travis Saurer, Bryce Borgen, and Jeff Rohner.

The show started out with a great feature in the WISSOTA Street Stocks, as Levi Randt and Braedyn Fleck raced side by side for six laps of the race, swapping spots, with Eric Riley close behind. He battled with Kammron Rose as the race wore on. With nine laps to go, Fleck unfortunately spun out, knocking him out of the race.

Now Randt had to deal with a very fast Riley. They battled for the rest of the race, back and forth. Riley stayed close as he continued to close in. Levi Randt drove on to the victory, followed by Riley and Dykhoff on the podium.

The WISSOTA Midwest Mods were led early on by Kenna Briedenbach, who was challenged by Jory Berg and Landyn Randt. They both drove by into first and second, ahead of the side-by-side battle for third between Briedenbach and Reinke; Reinke took the spot a few laps later.

With 13 laps to go, Randt passed Berg for the lead. Reinke moved in and went back and forth with Berg for second, taking the spot with two laps to go. Randt drove off to the win, ahead of Reinke, Berg, Noah McFarlane and Ron Saurer in the top five.

Bryce Borgen (Track Photo)

The WISSOTA Modifieds had 14 cars in their feature. Bryce Borgen, looking for his first ever win at the track, got out front and took control of the race. Borgen kept everybody at bay. He was chased hard by Bryce Sward, who put on a great show. Sward settled for second behind Borgen, who nabbed the victory. Joseph Thomas was third.

Travis Saurer (Track Photo)

The WISSOTA Late Models had 23 cars in the pits. Cole Schill and Layla Eisenschenk went back and forth for the lead for the first several laps. Schill again had tough luck as his car broke, sending him to the pits and handing the lead to Eisenschenk. She was pressured by Cole Searing and Matt Gilbertson. They fought hard for position as Saurer raced ahead to vie for position. He moved by Eisenschenk into third.

Meanwhile the battle for the lead was really a good one, as Searing and Saurer swapped spots three times for the lead. With two laps to go, they were side by side. Saurer drove on to victory lane, followed by Searing and Eisenschenk on the podium.

Chase Goliet and Christian Kast were side by side for much of the WISSOTA Hornet race, with Zander Zuehlsdorf also a factor. Farther back Jeff Rohner worked his way forward, dominating as he came through the field to pick up the win. He was followed by Jerik Stabler and 10th-starter William Lange in the top three.

Trevor Walsh won in the Gen X Late Model class.
