Atkinson, Rodin, Dykhoff and Pourrier put feature fields in the rear view Friday at I-94 Speedway

FERGUS FALLS, MN (July 24) - I-94 Speedway hosted its Gen X Late Model special Friday, July 24, as well as several classes of WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action.

In WISSOTA-sanctioned racing, Landon Atkinson, Lucas Rodin, Kyle Dykhoff and Chase Pourrier topped the A-mains.

The Preston family of Fergus Falls raised almost $7,000 in five days to honor their son and family member Kyle Preston with a very nice memorial race for the WISSOTA Midwest Mods, as 43 competitors made the trip over.

Lucas Rodin has always been very good at I-94 emr Speedway in his WISSOTA Midwest Mod and Friday night it was worth $3,674. He picked his way forward from eighth to catch and pass the young and talented Noah McFarlane, and then he fought off a very fast Tanner Bitzan for the big win. McFarlane, Tyler Bitzan and a strong-running Casey Knabe completed the top five.

A nice field of 16 WISSOTA Street Stocks took the green flag with Kyle Dykhoff and Braedyn Fleck on the front row. For five laps, Dykhoff and Fleck fought back and forth for the lead before Dykhoff took charge. Eric Riley was on the move to chase down Dykhoff from his fifth starting spot, but had no luck getting by him. WISSOTA National point leader Levi Randt took third as he edged Fleck, and Joe Martin charged from ninth to fifth.

The WISSOTA Modifieds are always worth the price of admission as Bryce Boren and Travis Saurer put on a slider show for six laps, and then Landon Atkinson joined in. Atkinson took the lead as he and Saurer went back and forth, before Brady Gerdes caught the duo and he joined the fun, with Borgen fourth.

With eight laps to go, Atkinson and Saurer went back and forth before Atkinson took charge for the win, with Saurer and Gerdes close behind in the top three. Joe Thomas charged from his 12th starting spot to finish fourth, while 18th-starter Ryan Gierke finished in fifth.

A nice field of 17 WISSOTA Hornets hit the track as Nathan Kelly and Camden Kelson fought for the lead; Chase Pourrier had other plans, however, and he took over three laps in and never looked back. Eli Green did a great job and ended up second just ahead of Emma Nelson in third. The “Never Alone” car of Lincoln Miller finished fourth, and Ayden Muchow was fifth.

In the Gen X Late Model feature, Dave Mass pulled off a last-lap pass for the win ahead of Parker Gilbertson.
