Rivord, Henkemeyer, Adams, Carlson and Fosso bring their booms to Thursday Thunder at Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, MN (June 5) - Jack Rivord, Jordan Henkemeyer, Blake Adams, Austin Carlson and Brady Fosso were winners during a rare Friday night program at Grand Rapids Speedway in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

Adams was the early leader in the WISSOTA Midwest Mods, breaking away to a healthy lead in the early going. Paul Ripley, Eric Anderson, Justin Feltus and Matt Anderson held top-five spots during the first few laps, before two back-to-back cautions for spins held the group at a standstill.

Back under green, Adams continued to lead ahead of a side-by-side battle for second between Ripley and Eric Anderson, with Ripley holding a slight advantage for the spot.

Adams continued his dominant run even through lapped traffic and drove to victory lane ahead of Ripley, Eric Anderson, 10th-starter Sam Kolar and Matthew Anderson in the top five.

Henkemeyer was the early leader in the WISSOTA Super Stocks, immediately driving out to a healthy advantage in his No. 91 Trevor Stewart tribute car. Chaston Finckbone and seventh-starter Steve Stuart had a great battle for second, exchanging the spot back and forth before Stuart got by with eight laps to go. Out front, Henkemeyer ran away with the victory, with Stuart finishing second. Finckbone, Tyler Kintner and Doug Koski completed the top five.

Rivord started from the pole in the WISSOTA Modified feature, and he and Kennedy Swan battled back and forth for the lead early on, with Swan taking the spot by a slim margin. Brady Uotinen was third, under pressure from Adams.

Just before the halfway point, Rivord regained the lead using the high line momentum while Uotinen and Adams were still side by side for third. Uotinen got by Swan for second just before the yellow came out for a spin.

Back under green Uotinen settled into second behind Rivord, as Swan tried to fend off Adams and Marvin Castle III. Rivord continued to dance along the ultra high line, with Uotinen continuing to try to track him down, but it was to no avail. Rivord took the victory, Uotinen was second, Adams was third, Castle was fourth and Brandon Mehrwerth finished in fifth.

Carlson outdueled fellow front-runner Jake Smith for the victory in the WISSOTA Pure Stocks, after a fierce side-by-side war that lasted for most of the race. Dylan Elhardt was third, Bob Klein was fourth, and Alex Berg completed the top five.

Fosso took the lead from the get-go in the WISSOTA Hornet feature, with the field two-by-two through the first half of the feature. Fosso came under heavy pressure just before the halfway point from Nick Ruzich, but Fosso was able to pull away to a healthier advantage two laps later. Fosso continued on to the checkered flag Friday, taking the win ahead of Ruzich, Nikota Larson, McKenna Folstad and Tucker Smith in the top five.

In the Northern Renegades, Chris Lewis took home top honors with a fourth-to-first run.
