Allen & Jozwiak score first wins of the 2026 season Saturday at Gillette Thunder Speedway
GILLETTE, WY (June 27) - Two drivers picked up their first wins of the season in WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action on Saturday night at Gillette Thunder Speedway. Danny Allen topped his first of the season, while David Jozwiak picked up the first of his career at the Wyoming oval.
Jozwiak started on the outside of the second row in the 15-lap WISSOTA Mod Four main event. He powered to the top spot a handful of laps in, and raced to his first victory in the division. Jason Sikkenga chased Jozwiak in the second half of the race, but finished more than 1 second behind in the runner-up position. Tony Reimers was third with John Smith fourth and Tyler Sikkenga fifth.
Allen grabbed his first WISSOTA Midwest Modified win at the speedway since 2022. He started fifth on the grid, and piloted ahead to take the lead around lap five of the 15-lap affair. He opened up a sizable advantage and took the checkers nearly 2 seconds ahead of early leader Matthew Drake. Alexis Manning was third ahead of Kolby Weight and Danny Dwyer in the top five.
Eddie Kirchoff grabbed the victory in the High Plains Late Model Tour, Rayce McCord topped IMCA Modified action, Brad Jones ended Joel Magee’s perfect run in the Hobby Stocks, and Donald Molnar picked up the win in the Sport Compact ranks.
