Pederson posts Late Model win at Devils Lake while Brekke leads all the way in Midwest Mods and Hess again handles Street Stockers
By Heather MacDonald
CRARY, ND (June 21) - The Northern Late Model Racing Association was back in action Saturday night at Devils Lake Speedway, with 18 Late Models on hand. Tucker Pederson drove to his first victory with the series following the 25-lap feature, while other WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Jess Brekke and Trey Hess.
Pederson led from the pole for the 25-lap feature, flanked by Travis Robertson on the front row. Robertson took the early lead and had a dominating advantage. Robertson was held up by lapped traffic coming into lap eight of the race; Pederson used the traffic to his advantage, using a classic pick maneuver to get around Robertson. Robertson was quick to go back on offense to catch Pederson, battling lap after lap to reclaim first.
The feature went green to checkered in its conclusion, with Pederson coming out on top of the exhilarating feature race. Robertson finished second, with Dustin Strand charging forward nine spots to finish third. Cole Schill and Jason Strand completed the top five.

Brekke redrew the outside pole in the WISSOTA Midwest Mods, with Jason Schuh to his inside. The outside line showed to be the dominant line, and Brekke used it to cruise his way to victory lane. Jason Halvorson was hot on his heels for a portion of the race, but ran out of laps and settled for second. Jory Berg was third, Randy Thompson was fourth and Jason Schuh finished fifth.

Shane Swenson redrew the pole position for the 20-lap WISSOTA Street Stock feature. Drew Peterson sat to his outside on the front row and as the green dropped, Peterson took the lead; he paced the first 14 laps of the race. Trey Hess was able to catch and pass Peterson with six laps to go. Hess used the caution-free race to his advantage en route to the checkered flag. Peterson was second, Swenson was third, Greg Jose finished fourth and Kasey Ussatis completed the top five.
Tate Bullis won his second Pure Stock feature race of the season on Saturday night. Taking an early lead and holding off Joe Armstrong, he grabbed the checkered flag. Waylon Poitra was third. Erik Wenstad limped across the finish line after having some mechanical issues much of the night to finish fourth, and Kyle Charette was fifth after suffering a flat tire with half a lap to go to finish the feature race.
