Bemidji washed out on heels of hurricane-force windstorm through the region

BEMIDJI, MN (June 22) - This past week has been a struggle for residents of Bemidji and the surrounding area. Hurricane-force winds and rain hit the area Friday night, forcing cancellation of the Late Model special planned for Sunday.

Bemidji Speedway drivers, crews, workers and fans spent their weekend repairing homes and properties and helping neighbors with their needs. Along with the disastrous storm, high temperatures and humid conditions made the work nearly impossible. But, the efforts of electrical crews from throughout the area, along wiht fire department personnel, police and public officials and numerous charity groups made the work a bit easier.
