Fernkes fastest of the Super Stock Series racers at Fiesta City while Gilbertson, Heinrich, Bjorklund and Brauer also bag up wins

MONTEVIDEO, MN (June 20) - The Fastlane Northland Super Stock Series headed to Fiesta City Speedway Friday night, with local-area racer Shawn Fernkes making his way to the front for the big victory and topping series regulars.

In other WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action, Nate Heinrich, Matt Gilbertson, Kolton Brauer, and Justin Bjorklund took home wins.

Twenty-two WISSOTA Super Stocks came to Fiesta City Speedway for the Fastlane Series, led early on by polesitter Doug Koski. Fernkes, who started outside of row five, picked his way forward and drove by Koski into the top spot after seven laps. He drove on to get his third feature win of the season at Fiesta City Speedway ahead of ninth-starter Dylan Nelson, Koski, Alex Myers and Tommy Richards in the top five.

Justin Bjorklund led every lap of the WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature for his second win of the season. He was chased to the checkered flags by Ryan Flaten, Luke Erlandson, Shane DeJong and Darren Engesser in the top five.

Kolton Brauer led the WISSOTA Street Stock feature flag to flag as he held off Eric Riley in the closing laps for his second win of the year. Cody Hatch, Alex Grinager and Micheal Brockman completed the top five.

Matt Gilbertson dominated the WISSOTA Late Model feature, leading all 16 laps for his first win of the season. He crossed under the checkered flag ahead of Devin Fouquette, Jack Koranda, Jon Tollakson and Ryan Schaufler in the top five.

Brian Haben took the lead to start the WISSOTA Modified feature, but Heinrich took over out front about the halfway point of the race. He went on to win his second feature of the year. Haben was forced to settle for second ahead of Jacob Knapper, Justin VanEps and Brett Hoium in the top five.

Jason Best led the entire Pure Stock feature, as he held off Landon Albertson to win his first feature of the year.
