Watching Jensen, Ferguson and Aspelin score feature wins was free for fans on Friday at Black Hills Speedway

RAPID CITY, SD (June 13) - Black Hills Speedway offered free grandstand admission to all those interested in Friday’s WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action. While race fans kept a little money in their pockets, Chandler Aspelin, Leonard Ferguson, and Clint Jensen left with the winner’s checks at the end of the night.

Aspelin, a rookie in the WISSOTA Midwest Modified ranks, captured his first-career feature win on Friday night. He started on the pole and paced every lap for the milestone victory. Brennan Davis crossed the line in second ahead of Rex Conrad, Joel Morris, and Paul Parks.

Ferguson started the WISSOTA Street Stock main event from the outside of the third row; he picked off opponents in the opening half of the race before supplanting Troy Murner as the race leader near the crossed flags. Ferguson scored his second win of the season over Murner, Jaren Puhlman, Warren Pourier, Jr., and Kyle Hanson.

Jensen grabbed his first WISSOTA Mod Four feature win of the season at the oval. He started fourth on the grid and made the winning pass with just a few laps to go to deny Gatlin Comer his first feature win. Comer settled for second with Dean Larson third, Rob Arlaud fourth and Destiney Cuestas fifth.

In other action at the big half mile, Mike Pennel grabbed the 360 Sprint feature win, Peyton George earned the IMCA Modified feature trophy and Joel McGee topped Hobby Stock action.
