Strand, Hunter and Jose hoist hardware after Friday night bullring action at River Cities Speedway
GRAND FORKS, ND (June 6) - River Cities Speedway was back in action Friday, June 6, playing host to their regular racing program including the WISSOTA Late Models, Midwest Mods and Street Stocks, as well as the Sprints.
In WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action, Dustin Strand, Austin Hunter and Greg Jose topped their A-mains at the Grand Forks Bullring, while Jade Hastings was victorious in the 410 Sprints.
Strand started from the pole in the WISSOTA Late Model feature, gained the lead immediately and led the field through the first 11 laps. After fighting back and forth with Shane Edginton for the top spot just past the halfway point through heavy lapped traffic in what was a thrilling battle, he secured the lead and jetted off to a more than 2-second advantage at the checkered flag. Joey Pederson was second, Jason Strand was third, 15th-starter Tyler Peterson worked his way forward to fourth, and John Seng completed the top five. Edginton, who had been second for much of the race, retired from the race with a handful of laps to go.

Hunter worked his way forward from fifth to second in the opening lap of the WISSOTA Midwest Mod feature, taking the lead from race-long pacesetter Tanner Theis about seven laps later. From there, he moved out to a more than 2-second lead on the field and garnered the victory, his second of the 2025 season. Polesitter Theis had to settle for second, Memphis Klassen was third, Cylen Vargason was fourth and Jory Berg rounded out the top five.
Greg Jose (Steven Young Photo)
Jose’s trip to the front of the WISSOTA Street Stock feature started in the fourth row. After a back-and-forth battle with Weston Ramsrud for second, a caution fell with just three laps to go. Following the restart he secured second once again, and looked ahead to race-long leader Seth Klostreich. With just one lap to go, Jose made his move along the inside line and nipped Klostreich for the victory by .007 seconds at the line. Klostreich, Ramsrud, John Halvorson and Josh Barker completed the top five.
Jade Hastings topped Mark Dobmeier and Andy Pake in the Sprint A-main.
