Jensen again takes two while Cain wins Mods, Tourville tops Street Stocks and Arnes earns Hornet trophy at Ogilvie Raceway
By Tami Jo Kuehn
OGILVIE, MN (June 7) - With rain in the forecast, Wagamon’s Ogilvie Raceway successfully completed a full race night of WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action in just over two hours Saturday.
The night was sponsored by Granite Ledge Electrical Contractors and winners included Dave Cain, Bobie Arnes, Keith Tourville, and Joey Jensen - who earned two victories during the program.
Dylan Kromschroeder and Jensen led the WISSOTA Super Stocks to the green, and Jensen claimed the immediate lead. Kromschroeder held second while Dexton Koch slid into third. Koch and Kromschroeder had a short battle for second, but Koch got the position and set out after Jensen.
Laps passed quickly and cars began to space out around the track, with Koch eagerly chasing Jensen. Jensen stayed strong out front and took the win, however, and Koch had to settle for runner-up honors. Kromschroeder, Dustin Nelson and Ryan Kostreba completed the top five.

The WISSOTA Street Stocks sped off as their feature began with Jim Gullikson, Thomas Worth and Kyle Howland in a fight for first. Gullikson took the point, but a few cautions kept the drivers at a slow pace.
As the green reappeared, battles on the track were two and three-wide as Gullikson felt the heat from Keith Tourville and Tommy Pogones. Gullikson suddenly dropped back as he suffered a mechanical problem, and Pogones and Tourville remained side by side. Tourville nosed out to the lead, but Pogones charged back to his door until the final laps, when Tourville was able to stretch his advantage. Tourville went from last to first in the feature event and took his No. 111 to victory lane. Pogones, Howland, Worth and Lucas Boyce completed the top five.

David Swearingen and Blake Adams battled door to door during the opening laps of the WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature, until a caution broke up the battle.
Adams was in the lead as the drivers raced under green once again, but soon had company as Jensen began to apply pressure. Adams held the point, but Jensen did not allow him to get away.
With the race half over, Jensen worked every groove possible to get by the younger driver. Slower traffic came into view, which allowed Swearingen to join the leaders with them nearly three-wide for the lead. Adams continued to hold off the competition as Swearingen and Jensen battled for second. With just four laps to go, Adams, Swearingen and Jensen were once again three-wide as they cruised down the back-chute; this time, however, Jensen shot into the top spot. Adams kept close to Jensen with lapped traffic mixed in, but for the second time Saturday Jensen visited victory lane. Adams finished in second with Swearingen, Mitch Weiss and Cole Elton in the top five.
Dave Cain (Mark Anderson Photo)
The WISSOTA Modifieds were next on the agenda, led to green by Jack Rivord and Dave Cain. They battled back and forth during the first lap, but Cain claimed the top spot at the end of lap one. Rivord held second and Jeremy Nelson took third as the top three drivers separated from the pack. They remained close as Nelson and Rivord were door to door behind Cain.
Nelson and Rivord were ready to pounce on Cain as laps quickly went by, however Cain slowly stretched his lead during the final laps. Cain led the feature from flag to flag and took the win with Nelson, Rivord, Jody Bellefeuille and Clayton Wagamon in the top five.
Bobie Arnes (Mark Anderson Photo)
The WISSOTA Hornets closed out the night’s program with Bobie Arnes grabbing the early lead ahead of Adam Throener, Tony Jenson and Brendan Bockwitz in a three-wide war for second. Throener took the spot, but Jenson was close by in third.
A single caution reset the pack of WISSOTA Hornets, but Arnes remained in command and continued on to take the win. Jenson, Throener, Nikota Larson and Randy Jacoboski finished in the top five.
