Sabraski snatches two headliners at Granite City while Jensen gets a grand on Sunday night

SAUK RAPIDS, MN (May 4) - Shane Sabraski hit up victory lane twice Sunday night, Joey Jensen took home the big Mid Mod check, and Dustin Holtquist picked up his second win of the weekend, as Granite City Motor Park welcomed drivers and fans back for another WISSOTA Dirt Track Series program to close out the weekend.

Jensen had to work hard for his $1,000 victory in the WISSOTA Midwest Mod special. Starting ninth on the grid, he worked his way forward from the fifth row and into the lead around lap 10, as the lead trio of Landyn Randt, Jensen and Blake Adams maneuvered tricky lapped traffic early on in the 30-lap race.

After a back-and-forth battle in the later stages of the feature with Randt, he secured the lead for good with about four laps to go and drove to victory lane. Randt had to settle for second, Jake Smith was third, 11th-starter Wyatt Boyum was fourth and Cole Boston rounded out the top five.

Sabraski scored the victory in the WISSOTA Modifieds, taking the lead with about eight laps to go and building a more than 2 second lead in the closing laps over second-place runner Joseph Thomas, who had his own battle with Devin Fouquette for second. Kennedy Swan and Zach Benson completed the top five.

In the WISSOTA Super Stocks, Sabraski picked his way forward from a fourth-row start, taking the lead just past the halfway point of the race. He was chased to the checkered flag by ninth-starter Curt Myers. Kolby Kiehl, Denis Czech and Austin Niemeyer were top-five finishers.

Holtquist also had to work hard for his victory in the WISSOTA Mod Fours, driving from the fifth row at the start of the feature and into the lead with around seven laps left and taking home the trophy. Connor Bruss, Chad Erlandson, Ashton Schwinn, and 12th-starter Rowan Tramm were top-five finishers.

Calvin Saldana won in the track’s Crown Vic class.
