Viking doubleheader gets chopped in half, but Riley tops Street Tour stop; Thoennes, Henkemeyer, Muzik and Goulet also win

ALEXANDRIA, MN (May 24) - Viking Speedway completed the Sunday portion of their annual Memorial Day Doubleheader over the weekend, and Eric Riley took top honors in the Street Stock Tour main event. Jason Thoennes, Jordan Henkemeyer, Josh Muzik and Hunter Goulet also picked up WISSOTA wins in Alexandria.

Riley cashed in for the victory in the WISSOTA Street Stock Tour main event. He moved into the lead around the crossed flags and outran seventh-starter Justin Vogel to the checkers. Mark Blom advanced from 11th to third with Nick Traynor fourth and Braedyn Fleck fifth.

Thoennes redrew the pole position for the 20-lap WISSOTA Modified feature and led the distance, although second-place Dustin Bitzan kept Thoennes within his sights for much of the contest. Brady Gerdes finished third ahead of Travis Saurer and Matt Thoennes.

Henkemeyer also turned a pole-position redraw into a feature win in the WISSOTA Super Stock division. He led each lap, while Russell Kostreba gave chase in second, but settled for runner-up honors. WIlliam Lund navigated from 11th to third with Ryan Kostreba fourth and Karter Reents fifth.

Muzik started third in the WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature and took the lead early in the event. He outran Travis Engebretson late in the going for the victory with Tyler Bitzan third, Ron Saurer fourth and Taylor Bitzan fifth.

Goulet charged from eighth on the grid in the WISSOTA Hornet feature and stole the lead about halfway through the 12-lap race. He scored the victory ahead of Chase Golliet, Adam Throener, Zander Zuehlsdorff and Jason Kast.
