Nelson and Larson lead the way Saturday night at North Central Speedway
BRAINERD, MN (May 23) - Dean Larson grabbed his first feature win of the season in the Mod Four division at North Central Speedway on Saturday night. Dylan Nelson was also a winner in WISSOTA action in the Super Stock division.
Larson redrew the front row for the WISSOTA Mod Four main event and led all the way to the checkered flag, however fellow front-row starter Chad Erlandson kept the leader in his sights, and finished .286 second behind at the flagstand. Gerrald Nohner was third, with Ashton Schwinn fourth and Patrick Specht fifth.
Dylan Nelson started fourth in the WISSOTA Super Stock main event and secured the lead in the opening laps. He raced away to a 2.3-second advantage at the checkered flag and pocketed his second win of the season at the oval ahead of Austin Niemeyer. Dustin Nelson finished on the final podium position with Ryan Kostreba fourth and Kris Peterson fifth.
Aaron Johnson blasted from ninth to win the IMCA Modified feature, while Mark Martini topped the Sport Mods after starting 10th, Tim Otterness earned the Hobby Stock win and Tyson Roush claimed the Sport Compact top prize.
