Becker, Stearns, Nelson, Perry & Stout seal the deal Friday night during week three at Brown County

ABERDEEN, SD (May 15) - Racing action returned to Brown County Speedway for the third week of the 2026 season. With farming and graduations underway throughout the area, a respectable field of 80 cars was in attendance.
Nick Perry, Broc Stout, Mike Stearns, Trevor Nelson and Chad Becker were all victorious in their respective WISSOTA Dirt Track Series classes.
The WISSOTA Street Stocks kicked off the night with a field of 18 drivers on hand. Jodie Michaelsohn and Kyle Bertram held the front row at the drop of the green. Michaelsohn led the opening lap, but Broc Stout took the lead on lap two, and then began checking out on the field.
As the race wore on, the track became one lane around the middle. With no cautions to regroup the field, Stout coasted to his first-ever victory at BCS in many years of trying. Bertram, Chris Serr, Michaelsohn and Jayden Bogh completed the top five.

The WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds rolled out next with 19 drivers in the field. Lorin Johnson and Nick Perry led the field to green, with Perry grabbing the point.
As Perry picked up from where he left off last week, he began to lap traffic about lap five. Unfortunately the caution struck on lap seven, and the caution flag waved again after one lap following the restart.
With six to go, Perry checked out while Kyle Anderson moved into third, but could not get by Johnson in second. Perry took the checkered flag, winning back to back victories at BCS, as Johnson, Anderson, Taylor Schmidt, and Dawson Zabel rounded out the top five.
At the checkered flag, Anderson, Zabel and Ryan Ost had all raced forward nine-plus spots before the checkered flag.

The WISSOTA Modifieds rolled out with nine of the scheduled 11 drivers making the call. Chaun Peterson and Lucas Rodin were up front at the start, but that did not last long, as Garrett Gross led the opening lap. Mike Stearns hustled by the following lap to take command.
Stearns found the lane on the bottom and hit his marks to open a huge lead. While Stearns was checked out, seventh-starter Tony Konold moved his way into third. A caution flag waved with six to go.
Following the restart, Konold tried to move past Gross, but the track just was one lane on the bottom. Another caution struck two laps later.
On the restart Konold again challenged for second, but the bottom lane was too good. Stearns checked out on the field once more and went on to get his second win of the year at BCS. Gross, Konold, Kent Arment and Dylan Zabel finished in the top five.

The WISSOTA Super Stocks came out with a good field of 12 drivers on hand. Damon Hoftiezer and Kyle Elsen sat on the front row and Hoftiezer used the pole to grab the lead along the preferred bottom lane during the opening lap.
The race was more of the same, as the bottom was the place to be. That is, unless you were Trevor Nelson: he rolled the middle of the track to move from fourth to the lead on lap five.
After Nelson drove into the top spot, he checked out and led every lap after that in a caution-free event. Nelson won by half a lap ahead of Hoftiezer, Dominique Menzia, 11th-starter Derek Zastrow and Austin Arbogast in the top five.

The WISSOTA Late Models rolled out for their race with 12 drivers on hand. Dustin Arthur and Chad Becker led the field to the green, with Becker grabbing the early lead. The first and lone caution struck during lap four for Kent Arment, who looped it off the frontstretch.
Following the restart, Becker did as all the other leaders had done and rolled the bottom. Becker began pulling away as the field followed suit, except for Arment. He somehow got the top side to come to life and when it did, he shot by everyone that was on the bottom of the speedway.
As Arment charged to second place, he was along Becker’s outside coming off turn two before Becker moved to the top in turn three, cutting off Arment’s momentum.
The final 12 laps were a dandy as Becker and Arment weaved through lapped traffic, scattered across the racing surface. Arment was hot on Becker’s bumper, waiting for an opportunity to pounce.
On the final lap, Arment got a big run through turns one and two, as Becker bobbled a bit. This set Arment up for a slide job opportunity into turn three. Arment ended up pulling even with Becker out of turn four with the drivers making contact, but as they crossed the line side by side, Becker had the advantage by .055 of a second. The win is Becker’s second of the year.
The INEX Legends were in action with eight drivers on hand. Ryan Urdahl used a little bump-and-run action to pass Reagan Reinke and score his first-ever win in the Legend class, having raced in the class for five years.
