Searing and Meirhofer split WISSOTA wins during first of two nights at Big Sky Speedway

BILLINGS, MT (September 19) - Cole Searing hauled his No. 10 WISSOTA Late Model out to Big Sky Country for the final weekend of WISSOTA Auto Racing-sanctioned action at Big Sky Speedway, and the long trip paid dividends as he won the 25-lap feature. The Billings, Montana area oval also hosted the WISSOTA Super Stocks in sanctioned action, with Jeremy Meirhofer making his way to victory lane Friday night, the first of two nights of racing among the mountainous backdrop.

Searing started from the front row and led from start to finish in the Late Model headliner. He scored the victory ahead of fellow long-distance traveler Dustin Strand, who finished about 1.6 seconds back in the runner-up spot. Ninth-starter Brad Hartigan moved into third in the closing two laps for the final podium spot. Lyndon Bolt and Dillon Price completed the top five.

In the Super Stocks, Meirhofer charged forward from his 10th-starting spot, cracking the top five by lap four and then patiently working his way into the lead with about five laps to go in the 20-lapper. From there he built a more than 3-second lead ahead of Beau Brown, who had led laps 1-15. Brown had to settle for second ahead of RC Geiss, ninth-starter and Wisconsin traveler Jason Havel, and Bill Monnett in the top five.

In the track’s other classes, Travis Hagen picked his way forward from the sixth row at the start to garner the IMCA Modified victory, while Harrison White took top honors in the Wingless Sprints class. Ty Olson won in the INEX Legends feature.
