Storck, Hess, Wahl and Goulet caught speeding faster than everyone else down I-94
By Ron Krog
FERGUS FALLS, MN (August 1) - In a season of five rainouts and three scheduled nights off, there has not been much racing at I-94 emr Speedway in 2025. It was nice to get things rolling again, with the WISSOTA Midwest Mods, Street Stocks and Hornets putting on a great show, along with the Northern Vintage racers. They all did a nice job entertaining the fans.
WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Corey Storck, Trey Hess, Kevin Wahl and Hunter Goulet.
The WISSOTA Street Stock field was 17 cars strong, with a solid field of competitors. Trey Hess did a nice job charging to the lead and holding on for a nice win. Behind him things were busy, as Eric Riley got by Wade Bergerud for third with 10 laps to go, and then two laps later Cory Dykhoff moved into fourth.
Late in the race Riley closed on Hess, as lapped traffic held him up, but time ran out and Hess grabbed the win. Riley, Dykhoff, Justin Peterson and Tyler Klugman completed the top five.
As usual a large field of WISSOTA Midwest Mods took the green - this week numbering 27 - with Taylor Bitzan out front early. Three laps into the race Corey Storck flew by to take charge, and Haley Dykhoff moved up to battle with Bitzan. With five laps scored, Ryan Flaten got by Dykhoff for third. About six laps later Kyle Langland moved into fourth, and a few laps later took third.
Out front, Storck drove on to the win with Taylor Bitzan second, 10th-starter Langland finishing off his charge through the field in third, Flaten fourth and Tommy Nichols fifth.
The 17-car WISSOTA Hornet feature was pretty action-packed, as Kevin Wahl took the early lead with Christian Kast, Andy Booke and Ayden Muchow fighting three wide for second.
Late in the race Wahl had heavy pressure from Kast and Booke, but was able to take the win followed by Kast, Booke, 15th-starter Hunter Goulet and Muchow in the top five.
It was also makeup night for the Hornets, as young Lincoln Miller surprised the field and pulled out to a big lead early on. A caution with four laps to go reset the field and Hunter Goulet was alongside Miller; the two put on a dandy show for the crowd as they went back and forth for the top spot, with Goulet edging Miller for the win.
A very nice field of 24 Gen X Late Models put on a wild show, with Scott Harrington getting the win. In the King of Dirt makeup feature, a late-race pass by Trevor Walsh garnered a very nice win and $1,093 payday for the Walsh team.
