Anderson accepts a $30,400 check for winning the 2026 Street Stock Little Dream at Rice Lake Speedway

RICE LAKE, WI (July 28) - Parker Anderson fought off repeated challenges from Shawn Amundson and defending champion Kyle Dykhoff to win the 32nd annual St. Croix Casino Street Stock “Little Dream” Tuesday at Rice Lake Speedway.

Once again due to the great participation from both local and area business, and fans in person and online, a new record for the first place payoff was hit: Anderson won a top prize of $30,400 in the biggest Street Stock race in the entire United States.

Sixty-seven drivers, a record for the event, from five states and Canada, signed in to race on Tuesday and a series of heat races, B Features and a Last Chance race were held to set the starting field for the 40-lap main event.

Anderson and Dykhoff started side by side in the front row after they were the only two drivers to successfully win both of their heat races. Along with Amundson, they were the main players in the battle for the win.

Anderson took the initial lead after the first attempt to start the race was waved off thanks to a spinning car in turn one. Anderson then led the opening five laps, and Dykhoff ran much of that time right alongside the leader.

On lap six, Dykhoff got a strong run off turn four and was able to drive past Anderson on the outside and take over the lead, a top spot he held for three laps before Anderson again was able to edge back in front to claim the lead.

A lap nine yellow for a spinning Sam Fankhauser put the race in neutral, but by that point, sixth-starter Amundson was in third, with Levi Randt and Tommy Pogones also running in the lead pack.

The three leaders continued to run in close formation with Anderson having to fight off challenges from both Dykhoff and Amundson - who moved into the second spot on lap 16.

Tenth-starter Justin Vogel was also on the move, successfully using the highest line on the track to move forward at a quick pace. By the halfway point, Vogel was fourth as he got past Randt for a position.

After a fairly long period of green flag racing, the yellow flag flew three times in quick succession for spins around the lap-25 point. After each yellow, the three-way battle continued, with Dykhoff trying the high side around Anderson and Amundson looking for an opening to the inside. Each came close to success: Dykhoff nosed up beside the leader twice, only to have Anderson fight him off, while Amundson nearly got by down the back chute before Anderson edged back in front.

A final yellow for Kyle Genett, who hit the third turn wall hard with 31 laps complete, set up a final nine-lap burst to the checkered flag. The drivers were racing incredibly hard into the corners, pushing their limits as each looked to find the fast way around the track. Amundson proved to be the toughest driver for Anderson to hold off and at least twice over the final nine laps Amundson had a nose under the leader. Anderson used both the inside line and sometimes high side on the track to just stay a fender’s length in front as Amundson continued his relentless pressure.

Amundson made his last big push as the leaders raced to the white flag; he drove very hard into turn four, but Anderson was again able to hold him off and when Amundson slipped just a bit exiting that turn, Anderson extended his lead by several car lengths.

This was just the margin that Anderson needed and he crossed the finish line under the double checkered flags of starter Sean Cimfl with a three-length margin ahead of Amundson, with Dykhoff just behind him.

Vogel and Randt completed the top five in the running order, with the Hard Charger award going to 24th-starter Hunter VanGilder, who finished sixth.

Jeff Ekdahl, Pogones, Eric Riley and Fankhauser rounded out the top 10.

Post race technical inspection found all the racers to be legal.

It was the first win in the “Little Dream” for Anderson, a former WISSOTA Street Stock National Champion who began his racing career at Rice Lake Speedway. It was also the first time in a number of years that local racers finished first and second in this event.

The next event at the track is August 8, when the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series races at the track. No WISSOTA Late Model events have been held at the track for two years due to scheduling issues and rainouts, so this will be the first opportunity for local fans to see the Late Models in quite some time.

The current point standings in the Challenge Series: Tyler Peterson holds a 24-point edge ahead of Kevin Burdick, and a 27-point lead ahead of Shane Sabraski.

A full program of racing will also be held for the WISSOTA Modifieds, Super Stocks and Street Stocks, with the Midwest Modifieds and Pure Stocks having the night off.
