Greenbush gets it done on Saturday, and so do Imrie, McCaughan, Berger & Leeper at feature time

GREENBUSH, MN (August 1) - Ward Imrie, Dylan McCaughan, Jerome Berger, and Kade Leeper were winners Saturday night in WISSOTA Dirt Track Series racing at Greenbush Race Park.

The WISSOTA Pure Stocks were first out, led to green by Kade Leeper and Mason Scholin. Leeper had the early advantage ahead of Scholin and Mason Smith, who were hot on his tail for the remainder of the race. Leeper, who has finished second numerous times this season, fended off another charge from Smith as the laps wound down and took the checkered flag for his first win of the season at GRP. Smith and Scholin completed the podium.

The WISSOTA Street Stocks were led by Andrew White and Jon Halvorson at the start. They were challenged by Deryk Weleski and Jerome Berger, with the battle moving to three wide for the lead at one point.

With seven laps remaining Berger and Halvorson had the race of the night. Halvorson claimed the lead, only to have Berger battle back. The two cars were never more than half a car-length apart. As they crossed the line in a photo finish style, Berger took the win by a few inches ahead of Halvorson in second and Weleski in third.

The WISSOTA Midwest Mods had 16 racers on hand, led to the green by Aaron Blacklance and Cory Peterson. Justin Olson quickly moved in, along with Dylan McCaughan, in the fight for first. McCaughan survived several restarts and brought home the victory. Behind him there was a great battle for second, with Olson taking the runner-up spot. He was followed by Justin Jones, who improved 12 spots to third.

The WISSOTA Modifieds looked to put on a show with Aaron Holtan and Connor Graff sharing the front row. Holtan led early with Graff following closely and challenging several times for the top spot. Ward Imrie had a great start and slowly worked his way up to the leaders. While leading Holtan uncharacteristically moved up to the middle of turns three and four, which allowed Imrie to slip past him on the low side. Imrie held on for another win, with Holtan second, and Graff in third—his best finish to date in the class.

Alan Truscinski used a last-lap move to drive by Evan Yannish in the middle of turns three and four and won by half a car length in the Lightning Sprints, while Gage Pulkrabek survived a four-lap shootout to the finish to net the victory in the NOSA Sprints.
