Chernosky again doubles up while Simpson, Bolt & Ruzich also roll to Wednesday wins at Thunder City

THUNDER BAY, ON (July 29) - Cole Chernosky nailed down a pair of WISSOTA Dirt Track Series wins at Thunder City Speedway on Wednesday. David Simpson, Kyle Bolt and Nick Ruzich also made the trip to victory lane at the Ontario oval.

Chernosky earned his seventh win in the WISSOTA Modified division this season at the speedway. He lined up in the second row at the start, but was scored the leader of every lap en route to the feature win. Jody Bellefeuille chased the No. 33 the entire distance, but settled for a runner-up finish by more than 3 seconds behind the winner. Colin Chaschuk, Riley Matthews and David Simpson rounded out the top five.

Chernosky also rolled into Thunder City victory lane for the seventh time this season in the WISSOTA Super Stock division. He started eighth on the grid at the drop of the green flag, and battled his way into the top spot just before the halfway point of the 20-lap race. From there, he pulled away to an advantage of more than 5 seconds at the checkered flag ahead of Rick Simpson. Danny Young was third ahead of Shawn Polonoski, Nathan Roy and Joshua Oleksuk.

David Simpson started fourth in the WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature, but worked himself into the lead with a handful of laps scored. He paced the remaining circuits and took the checkered flag for the fourth time this season at the oval, with less than a second to spare over Tanner Ulakovic in the runner-up position. Third was Kyle Monteith, fourth was Kevin Monteith, and fifth was Kolby Reed.

Bolt raced to his first win of the season in the WISSOTA Street Stock main event. He started fifth on the grid, and quickly made his way to the top spot; he had to turn back an onslaught from Levi Randt in the last half of the race, but was up to the task for the win. Randt, A.J. Keller, Nate Owen and Nathan Henny completed the top five.

Nick Ruzich crossed the border with a new trophy after the WISSOTA Hornet main event. He started third and ran away to a victory of over 3 seconds for win number two at the oval this season. Jesse Owen was second ahead of Avery Chaschuk, Jimmy Owen and Martin Bolt.

Trip Wolframe grabbed the Junior Slingshot feature win.
