GRAND RAPIDS, MN (August 21) - Shane Sabraski made his way to victory lane three times Thursday night, highlighting WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action at Grand Rapids Speedway. Other winners in sanctioned action included Jake Smith, Brady Fosso, and Sam Blevins.
Michael Blevins, Sr. and Sam Blevins led the WISSOTA Midwest Mods to the green, with Sam getting by into the lead and Joey Jensen on the tail of Michael, looking for second. A caution regrouped the field.

Back under green Sam held the lead, as Jensen raced high into second and closed in on Sam. Michael Blevins remained third, with Alex O’Dell close behind in fourth and Skyler Smith in fifth.
Through lapped traffic, Sam Blevins was able to hang on and take the victory. Jensen, Michael Blevins, O’Dell and Thompson rounded off the top five for the race.

In the WISSOTA Hornets, Easton Pfeiffer was the early leader. Ryker Larson used the low side to challenge Pfeiffer to complete the first lap, while Tucker Smith, Russel Kiker and Brady Fosso fought three wide for top-five spots. Kiker moved by Smith into third, with Fosso following through to fourth.
Pfeiffer continued to lead the pack in his bright orange Hornet, as Fosso moved in and made the pass for the lead after the halfway point. Pfeiffer fought back, as behind them Kiker, Larson and Jada Lore fought three wide for third.
With two to go, Fosso was in the lead and set off to the checkered flag. Kiker got by Pfeiffer in the last turn for second, while Lore and Larson completed the top five.

Matt Sparby was the early leader of the WISSOTA Super Stock feature, while Kevin Salin and Sabraski raced behind for second. Sabraski raced high on the track and grabbed the lead from Sparby, as Tristan LaBarge raced around Salin to third. Dalton Carlson was close behind Salin in fifth. Curt Myers raced the high side, gaining momentum to get by Carlson, and then took fourth from Salin. Sparby and LaBarge continued to fight back and forth for second while Sabraski inched away from the pack.
Myers stayed patient, committed to the top lane, with LaBarge along the low side in second and Sparby taking the same approach in third. A few laps later Myers took third, with half the race in the books.
Sabraski had set sail out front and he drove to the victory, as LaBarge was second, Myers was third, Sparby finished fourth and Carlson was fifth.

Bob Broking was the early leader of the WISSOTA Modified feature, ahead of a battle for second between Josh Beaulieu and Ryan Jensen, with pressure from Blake Adams. A caution was thrown when Jensen spun on the track.
Broking kept out front following the restart, with Beaulieu and Adams right behind, and Sabraski and Kintner in the top five. Adams raced high and challenged Broking for the lead and they battled back and forth for a few laps. This allowed Sabraski to move in and get by Broking to second. He then set off after Adams, as Mervin Castle III raced in fourth ahead of Tyler Kintner with 15 laps to go.
Adams and Sabraski raced for several laps nose to tail and side by side before another caution was thrown when Jensen spun on the track again.
Adams kept out front on green while Sabraski and Castle kept close behind. Kintner raced the high side of the track and kept in fourth with Broking behind. Adams and Sabraski continued to debate the lead, with Sabraski gaining the slight edge along the inside lane. Castle then spun and the field regrouped under green.
Following the single-file restart, Sabraski was victorious ahead of Adams, Castle, Kintner, and Broking in the top five.
Derek Vesel was the early leader of the WISSOTA Late Model feature, while Johnny Broking and Jeff Massingill argued over second with Sabraski close behind. Harry Hanson then raced by Kyle Peterlin for fifth. Massingill used the high side to fight for the lead with Vesel, while Broking and Sabraski battled side by side for third. The high side benefitted Sabraski and he raced into third. Massingill made the pass for the lead on Vesel a few laps later, and Sabraski moved into second about two laps after that.
Following a caution for a spun racer, Massingill held onto the lead while Sabraski took to the low side to pressure for the top spot. Sabraski got by shortly after for the lead, with Massingill second, Vesel third, and Kevin Burdick now in fourth just ahead of Broking.
Sabraski inched away from the rest of the pack while Vesel battled with Massingill high on the track for second. Burdick kept low in fourth with Broking close behind. Sabraski took another win home for the evening, ahead of Massingill, Burdick, Broking, and Vesel in the top five.
Jake Smith (Jennifer Tomczyk Photo)
Jake Smith was the early leader of the WISSOTA Pure Stock feature, but a crash in front of the field brought the field under an immediate yellow.
Back under green Smith held the lead, as Bob Klein lost second to Billy Binkley. Carlson was third and looked high and low to make the pass for the runner-up spot. Stephen Erickson raced to fourth, while Alex Berg was fifth. Another caution was thrown for another spin.
When the green was thrown again, Smith raced out front with Carlson right behind. Billy Binkley followed in third while Berg kept close to his high side. Erickson and Klein battled back and forth for fifth. Carlson closed in on Smith as the race neared its end, but Smith prevailed and took the win. Carlson, Binkley, Klein and Berg rounded off the top five.
Paul Schultz started in the fourth row of the Northern Renegades feature, picking his way forward to the lead just past the halfway point and driving to victory lane. Jesse Grife, Chris Lewis, Ken Hron, and Travis Krumrei completed the top five.
