Thursday night thunder event goes to Swan, Nelson, Adams, Smith & Ruzich at Grand Rapids Speedway

GRAND RAPIDS, MN (August 13) - The WISSOTA Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Mods, Pure Stocks and Hornets were part of the program Thursday at Grand Rapids Speedway, with winners in sanctioned action including Kennedy Swan, Blake Adams, Dylan Nelson, Mason Smith and Nick Ruzich.

Swan started from the front row in the WISSOTA Modified main event and led from the initial green to checkered, scoring the victory by 1.7 seconds ahead of national points leader Blake Adams in second. Lance Schilling, Ryan Jensen and Chris Magistad were top-five finishers.

Adams was the early leader in the WISSOTA Midwest Mods from his second-row start, a spot he never relinquished in the 20-lapper. Matthew Anderson, Sam Blevins, Paul Ripley, and Michael Blevins, Sr. completed the top five.

Mason Smith led flag to flag in the WISSOTA Pure Stocks, taking the victory ahead of Jake Smith in second. Alex Berg completed the podium in third, while Austin Carlson was fourth. Dylan Elhardt rounded out the top five.

Nelson had to pick his way forward in the WISSOTA Super Stocks, working from inside the fourth row to second with five laps complete, and taking the lead one lap later from Doug Koski. Michael Blevins, Sr. followed him through to second, Dylan Kromschroeder was third, Koski settled in fourth, and Dalton Carlson was fifth at the finish.

In the WISSOTA Hornets, Ruzich climbed his way from the fourth row at the start to take the lead from Jacob Petrich. From there, he picked up the victory ahead of Petrich, Tucker Smith, Brady Fosso and Zeb Graves.

Chris Lewis won another feature in the Northern Renegade class.
