Long list of winners at Princeton on Friday includes Gierke, Nelson, Holtquist, Bohlman, Fosso, Bruss and Howland

PRINCETON, MN (August 8) - Friday night was Fair Night at Princeton Speedway, as the Mille Lacs County Fair was in full swing. Ninety drivers checked in for a night of WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action, with fans being treated to a WISSOTA Mod Four makeup feature as well. The Minnesota Micro Sprints were also part of the program.
Winners in sanctioned action included Ryan Gierke, Max Nelson, Dustin Holtquist, Adam Bohlman, Brady Fosso, Connor Bruss and Kyle Howland.
The WISSOTA Mod Fours makeup feature was first on the agenda, led early by Bruss with Keith Thell close behind. The top two drivers separated from the field as laps passed by without incident. Bruss was able to hold off Thell for the duration of the race and took the win ahead of Thell, Dustin Holtquist, Tyler Larson and Andrew Funt in the top five.
Kyle Howland (Mark Anderson Photo)
In the WISSOTA Street Stocks, Kyle Howland and Steve Eggersgluess led the field to green, with Howland the early leader ahead of a battle for second between Layla Chaplin and Eggersgluess. Chaplin secured second, with side-by-side racing in the field behind her.
Howland stretched his lead over the remaining laps and took the checkered flag. Thomas Worth, Chaplin, Tommy Pogones and Charlie Shiek finished in the top five.
Adam Bohlman (Mark Anderson Photo)
Kris Macko and Kaden Woodie battled door to door when the green flag flew in the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds. Woodie snagged the point with Macko battling Adam Bohlman and Parker Frolik for second. A caution for debris regrouped the field, and back under green Woodie continued to lead ahead of Bohlman, Gruhlke, Macko and Frolik with 15 laps to go, before Frolik and Ben Lewis got together in turn two and the yellow fell again.
Woodie began to feel the heat from Bohlman when the field was back under green; four laps later Bohlman drove past Woodie for the lead down the backstretch, with Woodie attempting to cross him back over into turns three and four. Bohlman slid back past him coming to the start/finish line before a dustup between Mitch Weiss, Tyler Vernon and James Trantina in turn four brought the field back together again.
With the green back out, Bohlman showed the way. Gruhlke moved into second, with Woodie third before another caution regrouped the field.
Bohlman remained strong out front following the restart with nine to go, as Gruhlke remained second ahead of Woodie, who was under fire from Dustin Nelson and Tate Kostreba; Nelson got by Woodie to third, while Woodie and Kostreba battled side by side for fourth.
Out front Gruhlke had closed to just two car lengths behind Bohlman, but Bohlman held on for the victory ahead of Gruhlke. Though there was contact farther back in the field in turn three, the race was scored complete; Nelson, Kostreba and Woodie rounded out the top five.
Ryan Gierke (Mark Anderson Photo)
Following an early caution in the WISSOTA Modified feature, Adam Bohlman and Brennan Gave led the field back to green. Ryan Gierke and J.T. Johnson nearly made the battle for first four-wide, with Gave leading the way. Gierke slid into second and Dave Cain took third as they chased after Gave.
After a few laps Gierke slid Gave for the lead, and Cain followed through to second. Cain remained glued to Gierke’s bumper throughout the remaining laps, but Gierke held his line and grabbed the win. Cain finished second ahead of Gave, Bohlman and Johnson in the top five.
Max Nelson (Mark Anderson Photo)
Tommy Bawden and Dustin Nelson raced nose to nose for the lead as the WISSOTA Super Stocks took the green. Dustin Nelson sped away as Max Nelson made his way through the field. Max Nelson took second and quickly reeled in Dustin. As they battled for the lead, Dustin continued to hold the point. With lapped traffic in sight, the top two raced hard for the lead. The finish came down to the final turn of the final lap, and Max Nelson took the win. Dustin Nelson had to settle for second, with Dylan Kromschroeder, Tommy Bawden and Trantina rounding out the top five.
Dustin Holtquist (Mark Anderson Photo)
In the regularly scheduled WISSOTA Mod Four feature, Rowan Tramm was the early leader, before Dustin Holtquist made the pass for the top spot. Tramm kept close and pressured Holtquist, but Holtquist led the remaining laps and drove on to victory lane ahead of Tramm, Tyler Larson, Thell and Robert Holtquist in the top five.
Randy Jacoboski and Alex Aderman led the field of WISSOTA Hornets to the green flag, and Aderman drove into the early lead. Curt Derichs, Christian Kast and Bobie Arnes went three-wide for second. Arnes and Derichs moved forward to challenge Aderman for first, with Brady Fosso in tow. The top four kept close and continued to vie for top-five spots as the laps raced by.
Fosso worked the low groove and slowly moved forward until he, Aderman and Arnes were three-wide for first. Fosso snatched the lead, but Aderman and Arnes were still right on his bumper. Fosso pulled away in the final laps to win his third straight feature at Princeton, while Aderman took second ahead of Arnes, Curt Derichs and Kast in the top five.

After many rainouts, the MN Micro Sprints finally got to visit Princeton again. Carter Jensrud led early on, with Paul Wrazidlo second and Tyler Pelofske in third. Pelofske drove by Wrazidlo for second, but Wrazidlo regrouped and Marshall Willing moved in, racing three wide for the runner-up position. The checkered flag waved for Jensrud, followed by Wrazidlo, Pelofske, Willing and Joe Snow in the top five.
