Heinzerling, Ferguson and Comer come up with the winning combo Friday at Black Hills Speedway

RAPID CITY, SD (August 8) - Matt Heinzerling, Leonard Ferguson and Gatlin Comer topped the A-mains Friday night at Black Hills Speedway in WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action, as the track hosted a regular night of racing at the Rapid City, South Dakota speedplant.

Heinzerling started from the pole and led from start to finish in the WISSOTA Midwest Mods, holding off fellow front-row starter Brennan Davis for the win. Ron Starkey, Paul Parks and Rex Conrad were top-five finishers.

In the WISSOTA Street Stocks, Ferguson also started from the pole, leading from flag to flag and narrowly holding back the efforts of Warren Pourier, Jr., who finished .299 seconds behind Ferguson in second. Cole Phillips, Jaren Puhlman and Kyle Hanson completed the top five.

Comer captured the WISSOTA Mod Four victory from his front-row starting spot, taking the victory - his first of 2025 - ahead of Dean Larson, Tristan Torres, Rob Arlaud and Devin Wolter in the top five.

In the speedway’s other classes, Joel Magee (IMCA Hobby Stocks), Adam Speckman (360 Sprints), and Peyton George (IMCA Modifieds) were all victorious.
