Holtquist, Tourville, Flaten, Koch and Sward slip into the steamy stew of winners at KRA Speedway

By Ron Krog

WILLMAR, MN (July 3) - The 2025 racing season has been a real challenge for the folks at KRA Speedway, as the first six races had three rainouts. But on a hot, steamy night, a very nice field of 97 race teams rolled into the pits and a very nice crowd came for the show.

WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Bryce Sward, Dexton Koch, Keith Tourville, Ryan Flaten, and Dustin Holtquist.

The WISSOTA Modifieds were 13 cars strong, with Nate Heinrich in charge early. With three laps in the books, Sward made a nice pass for the lead, and three laps after that, Jake Knapper got by Heinrich for second. The two went back and forth, as Sward hung on for the win followed by Heinrich, Knapper, Brian Haben, Jonathan Olmscheid in the top five.

The WISSOTA Super Stocks had their hands full as Dexton Koch drew the pole and he had control of the entire race. Eric Martini was strong as he got by Jeffrey Frey for second, with Andrew Hedtke moving into third. After that, Hedtke and Martini had a great battle for second. Koch grabbed the win ahead of Martini, Hedtke, Zach Schultz and Brayden Hedtke in the top five.

A large field of 25 WISSOTA Street Stocks put on some great racing for the fans as Austin Hamre took the early lead in the 20-lap feature. With five laps scored, Justin Vogel passed Hamre for the lead, with Keith Tourville moving into second and Ethan Iiams third. With two laps to go, Tourvillle slipped by Vogel for the lead and the win, with Iiams in third, 16th-starter Joe Martin fourth and Zachary Flickinger in fifth.

Ryan Flaten (Alex Ostenson Photo)

As usual, a nice 19-car field of WISSOTA Midwest Mods put on a wild show, as Jason Vejtruba took the early lead; it did not last long before Ryan Flaten got by him for the top spot and never gave it up, taking the checkered flag. Vejtruba, Tim Kanten, Luke Erlandson and 13th-starter Jett Lindgren were top-five finishers.

Dustin Holtquist is having another strong season in his WISSOTA Mod Four, as he picked up a clean sweep and dominated the feature. Blake Hawker ran a solid second, ahead of Bob Holtquist, Tyler Larson and Dean Larson in the top five.
