Vogel tops Street Stock Tour event as Dacotah Rumble finishes at Brown County Speedway

ABERDEEN, SD (July 26) - Night two of the Dacotah Rumble came and went, featuring the DRC WISSOTA Street Stock Tour alongside the Tri-State Late Models. A total of 64 drivers checked in the two respective classes.

Justin Vogel topped the Street Stock feature in the lone WISSOTA Dirt Track Series event at the track Saturday.

The DRC Street Stock Tour was first on the program, with 24 drivers readying for their $1,000 payday. Vogel and Tony Miller rolled off from the front row, with Vogel setting a blistering pace and leading early. Jayden Bogh and Sam Fankhauser moved into second and third place, respectively. The first caution struck on lap nine as the leaders were getting close to lapped traffic.

On the restart Vogel and Bogh separated themselves from the rest of the field, which was two-, three-, and even four-wide across the racing surface. Bogh kept pace with Vogel and began to search for a way by, but Vogel fended him off at every attempt.

Then caution struck again with eight to go for debris. On the restart, Fankhauser battled Bogh for second while Broc Stout and Maria Broksieck closed in and challenged for top-five spots. The battle was heavy until Bogh hit a slick spot in turn one, which sent him spinning and caused a multi-car pileup. The wreck ended the night for several drivers five laps early.

Vogel shot out like a rocket following the restart, as Broksieck moved into second. Vogel’s lead grew every lap and he went on to win with Broksieck, Kyle Dykhoff, Andrew Hanson and Fankhauser completing the top five.

To cap off the night, the Tri-State Late Models hit the track for their $5,000 payday. Mike Stearns led all 35 laps in the affair, but not without challenges from Josh Skorczewski, Jayson Good and Kent Arment throughout the event. Stearns came out on top ahead of Arment, Cole Searing, Good and Skorczewski in the top five.
