PRINCETON, MN (July 11) - Rain threatened the region Friday night, but Princeton Speedway completed a full program of WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action. It was “Sparkle” night at the speedway, and royalty from Minnesota towns were on hand, along with ambassadors from the Minneapolis Aquatennial.

WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Robert Holtquist, Mitch Weiss, Kaitlyn Kohl, Jim Gullikson and Shane Sabraski.

The WISSOTA Street Stocks kicked off the night, with Thomas Worth and Layla Chaplin on row one. Chaplin took the lead at the end of lap one ahead of Worth and Jim Gullikson. Chaplin got loose in the turn around lap five, allowing Gullikson to grab the lead. Tommy Pogones and Worth battled for second until the yellow waved.

Gullikson remained in command as the race resumed, while Worth and Pogones were glued together for second. Gullikson led the remaining laps and took the win ahead of Pogones, Worth, Rachel Boston and Kyle Howland in the top five.

An immediate caution reset the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds and when the race resumed, Mitch Weiss sped into the lead. Ryan Putnam slid into second with Ashton Schulte in third. Putnam chased after Weiss, and with slower traffic in sight, Putnam was right on the bumper of Weiss. The top two kept close while they battled lapped traffic.

Putnam kept after the leader, but Weiss was too strong and took his ride to victory lane. Putnam settled for second with Dustin Nelson, Jason VandeKamp and Ashton Schulte in the top five.

Robert Holtquist and Tyler Larson remained nose to nose the opening lap of the WISSOTA Mod Four feature, and Larson edged out into the lead. Holtquist sped by Larson and claimed the lead during lap two, while Larson held second. The Mod Fours raced without incident and Holtquist grabbed the win, his first of the 2025 season. Larson, Dustin Holtquist, Ashton Schwinn and Chad Funt rounded out the top five.

J.T. Johnson and Shane Sabraski led the small but mighty group of WISSOTA Modifieds to the green, with Sabraski the early leader. Clayton Wagamon, Kennedy Swan and Johnson were three wide for second, and Johnson claimed the spot. Swan settled into third with Tyler Kaeter giving her a challenge.

Sabraski circled the speedway from flag to flag in the lead and notched the victory. Johnson, Swan, Kaeter and Brennan Gave completed the top five.

Shane Sabraski (Mark Anderson Photo)

The WISSOTA Super Stocks hit the track, led to green by Dustin Nelson and Jeff Frey. Dustin Nelson, Frey and Dylan Nelson settled into first through third as a caution was triggered.

Dylan Kromschroeder made his move as the race resumed and took the lead, but Dustin Nelson kept close. A few more cautions occurred, including a handful of drivers tangling in turn four.

As the race resumed, Kromschroeder was in command with Dylan Nelson and Sabraski in tow. Sabraski worked the high groove and after a battle that lasted a couple of laps for the lead, Sabraski pulled into the top spot.

Sabraski drove on and did not look back as he snagged his second win of the night. Kromschroeder, Dylan Nelson, Denis Czech and Dustin Nelson rounded out the top five.

Kaitlyn Kohl (Mark Anderson Photo)

The WISSOTA Hornets closed out the night’s program, with Kaitlyn Kohl and Russell Kiker, Jr. leading the way. Kohl and Kiker, Jr. remained nose to nose the opening laps, with Tony Jenson on their bumpers. Jenson raced alongside Kiker for second and took the position. Jenson worked Kohl throughout the final laps, but Kohl held her line and took her first-ever feature win. Jenson, Kiker, Josh Backstrom and Colton Lodermeier finished in the top five.
