Searing, Stearns, Nelson, Grimes & Myers close out Andy Daly Memorial action with night two wins at Aberdeen

By Spencer Heupel

ABERDEEN, SD (July 11) - The Andy Daly Memorial at Brown County rolled into night two with 133 cars in the pits. The highlight event of the night was the WISSOTA Super Stocks, who raced for $3,012, and there was bonus money for all classes.

Grady Myers, Jason Grimes, Mike Stearns, Cole Searing and Trevor Nelson were all victorious in their respective WISSOTA classes.

WISSOTA Street Stocks kicked off the night with 15 drivers on hand for a $712 payday. Adam Dehne and Jayden Bogh led the field to green and Dehne grabbed the early advantage. As Dehne led, Bogh was in a three-wide battle with Andy Rossow and Jayden Michaelsohn for second.

Rossow took second and reeled in Dehne to take the lead on lap five. After Rossow took the lead the first caution flag flew. On the restart, Grady Myers used the bottom to his advantage, as everyone else rolled the top, and he moved from sixth to second in one turn. Rossow opened up a slight gap to Myers, as Myers fended off Bogh.

The second caution struck with 10 to go; back under green, Bogh moved back into second and looked to battle Rossow for the lead. Myers, however, continued to roll the bottom and got a huge run out of turn two to take second and the lead with only five laps left.

The final caution struck with three to go, setting up a three-lap shootout. On the restart Myers rolled the bottom and fended off Rossow’s late charge. The win was Myers first win at BCS since 2024.

Rossow, Maria Broksieck, Chris Serr and Bogh completed the top five.

Jason Grimes (Track Photo)

The WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds rolled out with 18 drivers on hand for a $812 check. Nick Perry and Jason Grimes sat on the front row and Grimes was the early leader before a caution struck on the second lap.

Following the restart, Dawson Zabel started to battle Perry for second as Grimes railed the top and pulled away. Zabel finally cleared Perry for second and began to chase down Grimes. Zabel closed in on Grimes and looked to make the move for the lead, but caution struck with 14 to go.

On the restart, Cole Neset got a huge run to go from fifth to second using the bottom. The battle was heavy for second through sixth with drivers using all lanes on the speedway. Zabel eventually took back second and closed in on Grimes as they caught lapped traffic with seven to go.

The lead duo began to slice and dice through traffic; Zabel peeked inside of Grimes a few times, but Grimes was hooked up on the cushion. As the race looked to be setting up an exciting finish, caution struck with only three to go.

Following the final restart, Grimes had to fend off Zabel and Todd Stark, as both drivers tried the bottom and middle of the track. Neither of them were able to take the top stop away from Grimes, however, as he held on to score his first win at BCS in a long time.

Zabel, Stark, Cole Neset and Kyle Anderson rounded out the top five.

Jace Baloun was the hard charger, as he drove from 17th to a seventh-place finish.

Mike Stearns (Track Photo)

The WISSOTA Modifieds rolled out next with nine drivers competing for the $1,012 payday. Garrett Gross and Eric Edwards brought the field to green and Gross led the opening lap. Unfortunately the caution flag struck on lap two and that became the theme for this class for the second straight night.

Gross went off the track on the back straightaway following the restart, which handed the lead to Mike Stearns. He checked out over the ensuing laps.

With 15 to go caution struck again, with only six drivers left on the speedway. Officials decided to make the call to cut the race down to 10 laps left.

Travis Saurer moved into second place back under green and gave chase to Stearns. Stearns was too good on the top, however, and checked out to score his fourth win of the year at BCS. Edwards, Kent Arment and Dylan Zabel were the remaining top-five finishers.

Cole Searing (Track Photo)

The WISSOTA Late Models rolled out with 28 drivers searching for a $2,012 check. The race turned out to be a barn burner and possible race-of-the-year candidate.

Josh Skorczewski and Cole Searing led the field to the start and Searing grabbed the lead on lap one. The race was slowed with a caution on lap two, but when the field took green again, it was on.

By lap five, Searing began to work through the back of the field, bringing Trevor Anderson with him. The lead duo started swapping the top spot through traffic. With 20 to go the traffic got heavy, which allowed Skorczewski and Konnor Sperle to close in to the leaders.

As the lead was swapped about three times per lap among the front four. Anderson and Sperle swapped second right on Searing’s bumper with five to go, before the caution waved with four to go.

After the field restarted, Searing and Anderson swapped sliders for two laps until Searing took control. As Searing took the white flag the battle was heavy among Anderson, Sperle and Mike Greseth for second. Searing held on to score the win, which was his second at BCS. Greseth, who started 22nd on the grid, made a move coming to the line to score second.

Anderson, Stearns and Sperle rounded out the top five.

The finale of the night for the WISSOTA classes was for the Super Stocks. A good count of 29 drivers checked in, all chasing the $3,012 payday. A pair of BCS regulars - Mike Rohwedder and Trevor Nelson - set the pace and Nelson grabbed the lead.

Nelson ran the top and opened up a straightaway lead quickly. Nelson’s quick pace put him into lapped traffic with 29 to go; as he began to work traffic, it allowed William Lund to start reeling in the No. 71 machine.

The lone caution of the race struck with 22 laps remaining. Nelson moved to the bottom of the speedway following the restart, which is where Lund was running. Lund was able to keep pace with Nelson as the duo caught lapped traffic again with 13 to go.

Nelson maintained about a half second lead through traffic, as he was able to maneuver the track more effectively than Lund. The traffic was heavy for the final five laps, which allowed Lund to close in, but not enough to pass Nelson. Nelson went on to win his seventh feature of the year at BCS.

Jason Hobbs, Rohwedder, and Brayden Hedtke notched top-five finishes.

The INEX Legends were in attendance with 34 drivers battling for a $612 payday. The race was a barn burner between Preston Martin and Donavin Wiest, as they battled side by side for all 20 laps. As they came to the line, Martin edged Wiest by .066 seconds to score his fourth win at BCS in 2026.
