Leiker locks up another in Midwest Mods while Reimers records first Mod Four win at Gillette, WY

GILLETTE, WY (July 11) - In his first full season of competition, Tony Reimers captured his first victory in the Mod Four ranks to highlight WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action at Gillette Thunder Speedway on Saturday. Tony Leiker picked up a victory as well, though it was far from the first of his career.

Reimers, in just his 12th race in the WISSOTA Mod Four division, led every lap en route to the milestone win. He opened his advantage to more than 3 seconds at one point, and took the checkers more than 2 seconds ahead of Tyler Sikkenga, who made a last-lap pass for second. Russell Brown was third, with Jason Sikkenga fourth and Sean Rice fifth.

Leiker started in the third row of the WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature, and stole the lead from Danny Allen about halfway through the 15-lap race. Leiker opened up a 1.5 second lead at the checkered flag for his fifth win of the season in Gillette. Allen was second ahead of Ty Miller, Kolby Weight and Dawson Stoner.

Eddie Kirchoff grabbed the IMCA Modified win on Saturday, Joel MaGee topped the Hobby Stocks, and Robert Donmyer snatched the Sport Compact win in other action at the speedway.
