ABERDEEN, SD (June 26) - It was Sprint Car weekend in South Dakota with the NOSA/MSTS Series kicking off its 2026 Buffalo Wild Wings King of Wings challenge. The three-day swing started with a stop at Brown County with WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds and INEX Legends as the support classes. There were a total of 49 drivers in the pit area among the three divisions.
The WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds rolled out first with 16 drivers setting the field. Jake Wranek and Robert Bitz led the field to green and Wranek battled Dawson Zabel right away for the top spot. Wranek took control on lap three before caution struck.
On the restart, Taylor Schmidt began to battle Zabel for the second spot as Wranek started to open a lead. Zabel then cleared Schmidt and reeled back into Wranek. Zabel was the lone driver using the top side of the track and it paid dividends.
Zabel pulled even with Wranek for several laps prior to the caution striking again with 10 to go. On the restart, Wranek took away Zabel’s line, which forced Zabel to search once again. Zabel rolled the bottom to pull even with Wranek.
With only six to go, Wranek slid a little in the middle of turn four, which allowed Zabel to clear him out of the corner. Zabel ran away in the closing laps to score his third win at BCS, and wins in back to back weeks. Wranek, Schmidt, Ryan Ost and Cole Neset was the top five.
The INEX Legends had six drivers on hand. It was a battle between Dusty Mund and T.J. Pfeiffer up front once again. Pfeiffer led the opening half of the race, but Mund got by with only a few laps left to score his third win of the season at BCS.
Finally the NOSA/MSTS Sprints rounded out the night with 27 drivers on hand. The race was a fun one, with lapped traffic playing a big role. At the checkered flag, Dayne Kingshott picked up the win. The win was the first in the United States for the Bunbury, Western Australia driver.
