Dykhoff dusts DRC Street Stock field at Princeton while Schulte, Nelson, VandeKamp, Holtquist and Jensen clean up other classes
By Tami Jo Kuehn
PRINCETON, MN (June 20) - For the first time in Princeton Speedway history, the Dirt Race Central WISSOTA Street Stock Tour stopped by the central Minnesota bullring, with 27 racers on hand for competition. At the end of 25 laps, Kyle Dykhoff stood triumphant in victory lane, joined by fellow WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners Travis Schulte, Max Nelson, Jason VandeKamp, Dustin Holtquist, and Tony Jenson.
Jason Hobbs and Tim Gonska led the WISSOTA Super Stocks around the track for the night’s opening event. Gonska grabbed the early lead, before Max Nelson and Jason Hobbs moved in to pressure for the top spot, making it three wide for first. Nelson nosed out to the advantage, with Hobbs and Joey Jensen in tow. Drivers settled into a rhythm and laps passed without issue, as Max Nelson stretched his lead and took the win. After post-race tech was complete, Dylan Kromschroeder, Jensen, Tommy Bawden and Dustin Nelson were awarded top five spots.

Father and son race team Robert and Dustin Holtquist led the WISSOTA Mod Fours to the green flag. Dustin was the early leader at the end of lap one, with Robert in second. Chad Funt took over third and challenged Robert for second as Connor Bruss joined in. As the front of the field started to come upon lapped traffic, the yellow flew and the field regrouped.
Back under green Dustin Holtquist continued to lead, ahead of Robert, Funt, Bruss and Tyler Larson, who raced door to door and two by two. Funt and Robert raced during the final lap for second, and contact occurred in the final turn. Out front, Dustin Holtquist crossed the line and took the checkered flag. The official scoring of the final top five put Funt in second ahead of Ashton Schwinn, Connor and Larson in the top five.
Cole Boston and Jason VandeKamp led the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds to green, with VandeKamp taking the point ahead of Boston. Mitch Weiss made his way to third with Joey Jensen on his bumper.
Out front Boston kept after VandeKamp, as Jensen slid into third and chased down the leaders. VandeKamp and Boston were nose to nose for first as they began to navigate lapped traffic. VandeKamp weaved through the traffic first as Boston and Jensen remained close. The checkered flag waved for VandeKamp, who took the win ahead of Boston, Jensen, Weiss and Landyn Randt in the official top-five rundown after post-race tech.

Sam Fankhauser and Kolby Kiehl led the field of WISSOTA Street Stocks to the green flag, with Fankhauser in command early. Kiehl, Andrew Hanson and Kyle Dykhoff were three wide for second, before Dykhoff took the spot.
Following a couple cautions, Dykhoff brought the drivers back to green with Fankhauser and Hanson in tow. After another caution, Dykhoff, Hanson and Fankhauser held down top-three spots, as Nick Traynor, Jeff Ekdahl, Justin Vogel and Hanson were nearly four wide for third as the green reappeared.
Out front Dykhoff and Fankhauser began to pull away in the final laps, with Dykhoff scoring the victory. Fankhauser, Hanson, Traynor and Jeff Ekdahl were top-five finishers.
Travis Schulte sped off into the lead at the start of the WISSOTA Modified feature. Adam Bohlman held second while Clayton Wagamon grabbed third. Wagamon moved into second as Bohlman slid off the back-chute, but Bohlman regrouped to hold third.
Schulte set off to a more than 3-second advantage ahead of his closest opponent. With the checkered flag in sight, the yellow flew, erasing Schulte’s lead. The restart was a one lap shootout, but Schulte was unfazed as he took the green and the checkered flag. Wagamon, Dave Cain, Bohlman and Don Eischens rounded out the top five.

The WISSOTA Hornets wrapped up the night’s race program, led to green by Tony Jenson and Bobie Arnes. A first-lap caution regrouped the field early, but back under green Jenson and Arnes felt the heat from Russell Kiker, Jr., who made the battle three-wide. Jenson escaped with the advantage, but Arnes and Kiker, Jr. remained glued to his rear. The top three kept it close as laps passed by and Kiker, Jr. gave one final push the final lap. As the checkers waved, the difference was .006 seconds, with Jenson getting the victory. Kiker, Jr. was second ahead of Arnes, William Lange and Kaitlyn Kohl as the top five.
