After a week off, Rice Lake Speedway returns for a big few weeks of special events heading into July

RICE LAKE, WI (June 12) - Following a one week scheduled break to celebrate Aquafest, Rice Lake Speedway is back in action Saturday, June 20. Along with the normal five division program of WISSOTA sanctioned racing, the USRA Late Models will be returning for their second race of the 2026 season. They will be back for a return appearance on Saturday, June 27 as well.

At the first scheduled break of the season, the point standings in all five divisions are very close. Blake Adams currently holds the largest lead, as he is 21 points ahead of Brady Larson in the WISSOTA Midwest Modified standings. Meanwhile, Simon Wahlstrom is 20 points up on Austin Fencl in the Pure Stocks. The other three divisions are even closer; Adams is five points up on Matt Leer in the Modified class, Ryan Olson leads Leslie Leu by three points in the Super Stocks, and Cole Richards has only a two-point lead ahead of Shawn Amundson in the Street Stock class.

At this juncture of the season, regulars at the speedway are doing very well in the WISSOTA national point standings as well. Of the eight divisions sanctioned by WISSOTA, two Rice Lake regulars are currently leading in three of the divisions. Adams, the defending WISSOTA National Champion in the Modifieds, is again leading the national points at this time with Kennedy Swan second, Mike Anderson fifth and Leer seventh. The Wisconsin point standings also show Adams leading with Leer second, Swan third, Anderson fourth and Aiden Hoffman 10th.

Alex Myers is currently sixth in WISSOTA national Super Stock points with Leu seventh. In the Wisconsin points, Myers is first, Leu third, Jeff Eisner, Jr. fourth, Andrew Davis fifth, Olson sixth, Josh Cappo ninth and Travis Anderson 10th.

Adams is also leading the WISSOTA national points in the Midwest Modifieds currently. Larson is fourth, Travis Anderson is seventh and Jake Stai is eighth. In the Wisconsin points, Adams also leads with Anderson second, Stai third, Nick Koehler fourth, Joe Swearingen fifth, Larson sixth, Jason Vokovan seventh, Cody Cimfl eighth and Chase Brown 10th.

Layla Chaplin is currently running second in WISSOTA national Street Stock points with Cole Richards ninth. The Wisconsin points show Richards first, Chaplin second, Amundson third, Sam Fankhauser fourth, Danny Richards fifth, Connor Franson sixth, Bryar Zimmerman seventh, Charlie Pitcavage eighth, Alaina Chaplin ninth and Parker Anderson 10th.

Wahlstrom is currently leading the WISSOTA national points in the Pure Stocks with Fencl third. Tyler Wahlstrom is fourth, Tom Treviranus sixth, C.J. Wagner seventh, Bob Wahlstrom ninth and Marlene Lannet 10th. The Wisconsin points also find Simon Wahlstrom in the lead, with. Fencl second, Tyler Wahlstrom third, Treviranus fourth, Wagner fifth. Bob Wahlstrom sixth, Lannet seventh, Sean Duffy eighth, James Rahn ninth and Carsyn Olson 10th.

Details were announced this week for the 10th annual K-Runk Memorial race, which will again be a part of the Firecracker special scheduled for Thursday, July 2. This special, honoring the memory of Kyle Runkle, will feature a $2,323-to-win Midwest Modified feature—along with a full racing program for the four other divisions at the speedway.

Along with the special racing action, the fireworks display the track is so famous for will also occur, and it’s also the Relay at the Races events fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The event has a July 3 raindate. The defending winner of the K-Runk Memorial is Jason VandeKamp.
