Bahr, Dudley, Carlson, Schwinn & Larson lock their Bemidji rivals out of victory lane on Sunday

By Dennis Peterson

BEMIDJI, MN (June 14) - It was a special night Sunday at Bemidji Speedway for multiple reasons. First it was Thrivent Lakes Area Heroes Night, supporting area law enforcement, fire and EMS. In addition, the Northern Renegades were also on hand for their only appearance of the season.

WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Brandon Bahr, Chris Dudley, Conrad Schwinn, Austin Carlson, and Ryker Larson.

Billy Binkley and Doug VanMill led the charge to the green flag in the WISSOTA Street Stocks, with VanMill the early leader followed by Deryk Weleski and Scotty Messner. A caution in turn two slowed the action for a restart.

Following the restart, Chris Dudley moved up into second with Messner pitting for a tire change and returning tailback.

The restart was led by VanMill, but Dudley was challenging; on the backstretch, he used an inside move and grabbed the lead. Dudley took the checkered flag, his first in 2026, ahead of VanMill and Weleski on the podium.

Austin Carlson and Alex Berg led the pack of WISSOTA Pure Stocks to the green flag waved by flagman Lynn Johnson. An early caution forced a restart with Carlson, Berg and Billy Binkley in the top three. Binkley raced inside down the frontstretch and passed Berg for second. Kade Leeper raced up into fourth, with Mason Smith fifth. Carlson was expanding his lead before another caution waved and Leeper towed to the pits coming out of turn four.

Carlson controlled the restart and took the checkered flag. Berg was second and Justin Barsness completed the podium.

The WISSOTA Hornet class was next up led to green by Chad Reller and Logan Delaney. Reller and Delaney waged a spirited side-by-side battle for the lead for a lap. Reller was finally able to secure the top spot with Ryker Larson powering forward; Chase Golliet then got by Delaney in a wild and crazy Hornet race. Larson passed Reller for the lead, with Golliet battling door to door with Reller for second. Larson picked up the win with Reller and Golliet rounding out the podium.

Brooke Erickson and Conrad Schwinn led the charge of the WISSOTA Mod Fours feature. Erickson and Schwinn put on a show for the lead, trading the position before Schwinn gained the advantage in a spirited race.

Several spins and crashes kept the race from gaining a lap, including a six-car pileup on the front straight that took out many of the cars for the remainder of the race.

Once the race finally gained the green light, Schwinn led out front of Erickson, Dawson Oelrich and Jayden Bahr. After starting tail back following a spin, Ashton Schwinn was back in contention; he raced side by side with Oelrich before another caution once again slowed the race. Oelrich pitted, while Conrad Schwinn, Erickson and Bahr held top three spots. That was how they finished, with a strong showing by both Erickson and Bahr behind winner Conrad Schwinn.

The WISSOTA Super Stocks were led on track by Dalton Carlson with Brandon Bahr to his outside. The green flag waved and Bahr took the lead into turn one ahead of Carlson and Cameron Labelle, as Justin Barsness moved to fourth. The top four battled nose to tail on the fast track, with Bahr steady up front and holding off all challenges. In a flag-to-flag effort, Bahr brought home the win, his first in 2026, with Carlson and Barsness completing the podium.

In the Renegade Sprints, Zach Olson led from start to finish to pick up the win for a clean sweep. Conrad Schwinn won the Mini Stock feature and also swept the action after a good battle with Nick McCann.
