Leiker and Konst continue front-running trends at Gillette Thunder Speedway

GILLETTE, WY (June 7) - Gillette Thunder Speedway held its Month of Money championship night Saturday, June 7, with WISSOTA Midwest Mods and Mods Fours part of the program.

WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Tony Leiker and Brett Konst.

In the Midwest Mods, Tony Leiker started in sixth, gaining the lead at the halfway point of the race from his brother Troy, and setting off to a one-second advantage at the finish. Troy was second ahead of Matthew Drake, Austin Long and 13th-starter Justin Will in the top five.

Konst led from start to finish in the WISSOTA Mod Four feature. He had a 4-second advantage ahead of runner-up Greg Baker. David Jozwiak, Teresa Schuler and Casey Schilling were top-five finishers.

In the speedway’s other action, Kyle Anton won in the IMCA Modifieds, Robert Donmyer topped the Mini Bomber feature, and John Garrigan, Jr. was victorious in the IMCA Hobby Stocks.
