FERGUS FALLS, MN (May 15) - A nice field of 104 race cars rolled into I-94 emr Speedway on a beautiful Friday night for a packed show May 15, highlighted by a stop from the WISSOTA Challenge Series.

WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Kyle Dykhoff, Shane Sabraski, Tanner Bitzan, Jeff Rohner, and Kevin Burdick.

Burdick survived a multi-lap side-by-side battle and multiple slide jobs from runner-up Tyler Peterson to win the 40-lap WISSOTA Challenge Series feature and race to his third career victory with the series by a margin of 1.289 seconds.

Provinzino and Burdick earned the front row for the night’s $3,000 to win, 40-lap feature event. Provinzino had the upper hand on the initial start and led the field for the opening lap.

Provinzino ran out front during the first five laps with Burdick, Eder and Peterson waging an all-out war for the runner-up spot prior to the first caution of the event flying on lap eight.

Peterson swooped by Provinzino into the lead following the restart, bringing Eder and Burdick along into a battle for the top spot as the event approached the halfway point.

Several cautions for debris slowed the action throughout the midpoint of the race, but once the field got rolling again, Burdick and Peterson reassumed their tussle for the lead and put on a fantastic show for the fans, swapping the top spot multiple times as laps began to slip away.

Burdick took command for good late in the going and drove off to a 1.289 second lead, just ahead of the Peterson/Eder battle for runner-up honors. Peterson was second, Eder was third, hard charger and 12th-starter Cole Schill was fourth, and Sabraski was fifth.

Kyle Dykhoff (Nick Anderson Photo)

In the WISSOTA Street Stocks, there was a real good battle early on, as young Levi Randt took the initial lead in the race. Veteran Kyle Dykhoff caught him very shortly, however, and the two were side by side for the next three to four laps.

As the race wore on, Dykhoff finally took control of the top spot. Another great race broke out between Jeff Ekdahl and Braedyn Fleck for third. When the checkered flag flew, Dykhoff took the win, Randt was second, and Fleck finished third. Ekdahl was fourth, while Greg Platzer completed the top five.

The 26-car field of WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds was loaded with talent and started their feature with a three-car battle among Tanner Bitzan, Jake Smith and Nate Reinke. Three laps later, Smith and Bitzan were trading the top positions back and forth. Landon Randt was also on the move and he joined the party for the lead. In the end, Bitzan held off Smith for the victory, with Dusty Peterson third, Reinke fourth, and Travis Engebretson in fifth.

The WISSOTA Hornets were represented by 19 strong racers, and they put on a great show. Early on, it was a good battle: local racer Lincoln Miller led the race before veteran Jeff Rohner came through and overtook him for the lead. In the end, Rohner hung on to pick up the victory with Miller second. Eli Green, Brady Fosso and Emma Nelson completed the top five.

Shane Sabraski (Nick Anderson Photo)

Ryan Mikkelson was the early leader of the WISSOTA Late Model May 8 makeup feature, with pressure from James Trantina. Dexton Koch, who started third, took the lead from Mikkelson, but before long a pair of former multi-time and multi-class National Champions Shane Sabraski and Tyler Peterson joined in the fun up front. Peterson took the lead from Koch a couple times, but Koch kept battling back. Sabraski came charging high on the outside, and he took the lead and drove on for the win. Peterson, Koch, Mikkelson and Cole Schill completed the top five.

Trevor Walsh won the Gen X Late Model feature.
