FERGUS FALLS, MN (May 8) - A nice field of 125 cars kicked off the 2026 season at I-94 emr Speedway Friday night, May 8, with six strong classes of cars taking part in the opening night program.

Fans were treated to an entertaining night of racing before weather moved in late in the evening, forcing the postponement of several features.

Winners in WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action included Nate Reinke and Kyle Dykhoff.

In the WISSOTA Street Stocks, Cole Greseth and Dykhoff put on a great battle in the feature, swapping positions several times throughout the race. In the end, Dykhoff hung on to grab the hard-fought victory over Greseth. Jeff Ekdahl, Weston Ramsrud and Braedyn Fleck completed the top five.

The WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds were represented strongly, with 30 race cars into the pits. In the feature Jake Smith jumped out to the early lead and looked very strong, while Corey Storck and Taylor Bitzan battled behind him. Meanwhile, Nate Reinke charged forward from his seventh starting position and he worked his way through the field. He battled hard with Smith late in the race, swapping the top spot. He eventually grabbed the feature win in an impressive run. Smith was second ahead of Memphis Klassen, Taylor Bitzan and 11th-starter Tommy Nichols in the top five.

The Gen X Late Models had a field of 23 cars on hand and Parker Gilbertson scored the feature victory.

The WISSOTA Modifieds had 17 cars in action. Dusty Bitzan and Tyler Peterson picked up heat race victories, but weather rolled in before the feature could be completed. Only two laps of the feature were run before rain ended the evening. The remainder of that feature will be made up at a later date.

Weather moving in late forced officials to shut the evening down early. Racing resumes next weekend with the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Late Model Series headlining the program.
