Arment, Arbogast, Rodin, Hansen and Carter churn out wins during final weekend at Brown County Speedway

ABERDEEN, SD (September 26) - The 2025 season has wound down but one last hurrah was on tap at Brown County Speedway September 26-27, with the return of the Winter Nationals for the first time in more than a decade. While it didn’t feel like winter, there was still exciting racing for the fans, with 103 cars on hand.

Scott Hansen, Jonny Carter, Lucas Rodin, Austin Arbogast and Kent Arment were all victors in their respective WISSOTA Dirt Track Series classes.

WISSOTA Street Stocks kicked off the event with 24 drivers making the feature field. Father-and-son duo Michael and Jayden Bogh brought the field to green. They battled side by side for the opening laps until Michael grabbed the lead.

Jonny Carter battled with Jayden for second and they caught Michael to make it a three-wide race for the lead. The battle was getting good before the red flag fell for Ferlin Sheridan, who rolled off of turn one. It was a lengthy delay but Sheridan was okay and transported to the hospital for further evaluation.

When the race finally resumed it was a battle between Jayden Bogh and Corey Moser for the lead, with Moser moving into the top spot. Carter rallied back to third after falling to sixth, and then he moved into second. As the race was approaching lapped traffic, a caution fell with five to go.

On the restart, Cole Greseth made a move from fourth to the lead with Carter in tow. Greseth rolled the middle as Carter began to peek to the inside. On the final lap, Carter got a big run into turn three and pulled ahead of Greseth out of turn four and scored the win. It was Carter’s first WISSOTA Street Stock win here since 2023. Greseth, Moser, 12th-starter Chris Serr and Kasey Ussatis were top-five finishers.

The WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds rolled out with 27 drivers on hand. Jake Wranek and Scott Hansen brought the field to green, with Hansen grabbing the lead. Hansen set a fast pace with Wranek and Lucas Rodin hot on his tail. Battles raged throughout the field as the class used the whole track.

The quick pace put the leader in lapped traffic with nine laps to go. Hansen began to pull away in traffic until a caution hit with five to go. On the restart, Hansen, Rodin and Brennon Weight pulled away from the field using the cushion. Hansen fended off every challenge from Rodin and drove on to score his first win at BCS in 2025. Weight, Dawson Zabel and 13th-starter Todd Stark completed the top five.

Lucas Rodin (Allen Becker Photo)

WISSOTA Modifieds were up next with a count of 13 drivers on hand. Dylan Zabel and Jesse Young brought the field to green, with Zabel grabbing the lead early. It was another quickly paced race as Zabel began to pull away.

With 13 to go Zabel caught lapped traffic and began to work his way through the backmarkers before he looped it on his own but kept moving, keeping the field under green.

Rodin inherited the lead and from there, he pulled away from the field until caution struck with 11 to go.

On the restart the field fanned out on the cushion and Rodin checked out on the field, winning his first-ever WISSOTA Modified feature at Brown Co. Speedway. Mike Stearns, Adam Brotherton, Kent Arment and 10th-starter Alex Guthmiller rounded out the top five.

Austin Arbogast (Allen Becker Photo)

The WISSOTA Super Stocks followed and were led to the green by Austin Arbogast and Dominique Menzia. Arbogast checked out from the small field on hand and scored his third win of 2025 at BCS. Menzia, Kyle Elsen, Kenneth Clements and Derek Zastrow completed the top five.

Kent Arment (Allen Becker Photo)

Twenty-five WISSOTA Late Models made the feature, led to green by Dustin Strand and Lucas Rodin. On the initial start, Rodin looped it in turn one. Following the restart Kent Arment moved to Strand’s outside, with Strand grabbing the lead on lap two. It was short-lived as caution struck on lap three and it became the theme of the race.

The next seven laps were ticked off with a caution coming after each lap. Following a restart with 15 to go, Arment powered by Strand using the inside to take the lead. A few more laps were clicked off until caution struck again with only eight to go. The ensuing restart took seven attempts to finally get one to stay green.

Back under green Strand searched all over the track to pass Arment but to no avail. Arment held on to score his first WISSOTA Late Model win of 2025. Strand, Thomas Weisgram, Trevor Anderson and Rusty Kollman rounded out the top five.
