KRA concludes season with extra features for fans; Knapper, Eischens, Sabraski, Randt, Vogel and Larson lead the way at final flags

WILLMAR, MN (August 27) - The folks at KRA Speedway put the wraps on championship night with a great night of WISSOTA Dirt Track Series racing. A nice field of 78 cars pulled in and there was plenty of action, including a hard roll on the front straight by Doug Martin; he was unhurt. The program also included two makeup features from the July 30 program.

Winners in sanctioned action included Jacob Knapper, Don Eischens, Shane Sabraski, Landyn Randt, Justin Vogel and Tyler Larson.

Vogel jumped out to an early lead in the WISSOTA Street Stocks, followed by Keith Tourville and Levi Randt. The three continued to battle each other throughout the race, with Tourville grabbing the lead, and Randt moving by Vogel into second. Joe Martin came from back in the pack to get by Vogel for third.

Later in the race, Vogel returned the favor as he got by both Martin and Randt. At the end of the race, it looked like Tourville was going to get the win, but on the white flag lap, the rear end broke on his race car, shutting him down. Vogel came through to take the win, with Randt second and Martin in third place. The championship for that class went to Vogel, the 11th in his career.

Ryan Flaten had the early lead in the WISSOTA Midwest Mods. Flaten held on as he was getting pushed hard by Ben Beekman and Landyn Randt. Randt moved up into second and chased down Flaten, and finally with five laps to go Randt took the spot and held on for the win, with Flaten coming in second. Justin Bjorklund was third, and won the track championship.

Tyler Larson jumped out to an early lead in the WISSOTA Mod Fours and looked very strong. An impressive run by young Andrew Christensen had him right in the thick of the hunt as well.

Soon WISSOTA national points leader Dustin Holtquist moved into second, but he was unable to run down Tyler Larson as Larson picked up the win and also the 2026 track championship. Holtquist finished second and Jamie Flickinger was very impressive in third.

The WISSOTA Super Stocks were up next in the regular feature; Dustin Zieske and Andrew Hedtke looked good up front early on. It wasn't long before Sabraski moved into second eight laps into the race. Two laps later Sabraski overtook Hedtke for the lead and held off Dexton Koch to get the win, with Zach Schultz finishing in third.

The make-up feature for the Super Stocks also was another good feature, as Sabraski got off to the early lead, followed again by Braden Hedtke. The battle for third was also entertaining, as Jordan Henkemeyer and Colstyn Schultz battled hard for that position.

Again Zach Schultz was the story of the race, as he came from deep in the field and moved up into third.

Out front however, Sabraski scored his second Super Stock victory for the night ahead of Schultz and Andrew Hedtke. Schultz won the track championship.

The WISSOTA Modifieds were up next. In the first feature, Brian Haben and Jake Knapper led the field to the green flag. Knapper took the early lead, chased hard by Teddy Kottschade, as Kottschade did a nice job running in second. Don Eischens came all the way from ninth to run up into third. Knapper drove on to the solid win ahead of Kottschade and Eischens on the podium.

In the makeup feature, Eischens started on the pole, and it was a great battle, as he, Knapper and Sabraski went on a three-wide battle. Eischens held the lead, Knapper was second, and Sabraski used the top of the race track to hold third. In the final two laps, all three were nearly side by side, and as they came through lapped traffic, Sabraski was pinned in by the lap car. That opened the door for Eischens to take the win. Sabraski did bounce back to second, with Knapper finishing in third. Congratulations to 2026 Modified champion Brian Haben.

Ashton Martin picked up another nice win in the Pure Stocks, while Braxton Schmitz topped the Hornets.
