Eischens, Koch, Randt, Vogel and Larson lock down wins at point battles heat up at KRA Speedway
By Ron Krog
WILLMAR, MN (August 21) - With just two weeks left in the 2025 racing season at KRA Speedway, several close point battles are really heating things up.
WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners on Thursday included Dexton Koch, Don Eischens, Landyn Randt, Justin Vogel, and Tyler Larson.
Eischens and Tony Konold put on a great show in the WISSOTA Modified feature, as they went side by side for several laps before Eischens finally took charge. Konold kept it close with an impressive run to finish second ahead of Jake Knapper - who used a late-race pass on Justin VanEps for third. Tyler Kaeter completed the top five.
The WISSOTA Mod Four feature was controlled early by Tyler Larson, and he pulled away from the field for a strong win as he closes in on another championship. Chad Funt, Andrew Funt, Jamie Flickinger, and Andrew Christenson finished in the top five.
The best race of the night was the WISSOTA Midwest Mod feature as Jason Vejtruba, Ryan Flaten and Landon Randt were three wide for several laps before Randt went to the outside wall and took charge with eight laps to go. Flaten then snuck by Vejtruba for second. Flaten put heavy pressure on Randt for the final four laps, but in the end it was Randt getting the victory followed by Flaten, Vejtruba, Justin Bjorklund and Jett Lindgren in the top five.
A nice 15-car field of WISSOTA Street Stocks was led early by Justin Vogel, with Layla Chapin running a solid second. With five laps in the books, Coltyn Schuler passed Chapin for second, and then tried to chase down Vogel for the win. Along came Ethan Iiams, moving into second ahead of Schuler, as Vogel powered his way to the win followed by Iiams, Schuler, Levi Randt and Zachary Flickinger in the top five.
The defending WISSOTA Super Stock National Champion Dexton Koch is really coming on late in the season. He caught and passed Zach Schultz early in the feature, and held on for a nice win ahead of Schultz, Andrew Hedtke, Brayden Hedtke, and Jake Luark in the top five.
In the track’s other classes, Travis Bruns won the Hornet feature with Colsten Schultz grabbing the Pure Stock victory.
