Koch takes two, including first-ever Late Model win, to highlight Friday at Fiesta City Speedway

MONTEVIDEO, MN (August 21) - WISSOTA Dirt Track Series racing at Fiesta City Speedway was highlighted by a special for the Hornets and a double-dip with a first-ever victory in the Late Models Friday night.

Brandon Louwagie won the WISSOTA Hornet special, while Dexton Koch not only took home the win in the WISSOTA Super Stocks, but also secured his first-ever victory in the WISSOTA Late Models. Mike Jans won in the WISSOTA Street Stocks, and Scott Tofte back up last week’s winning effort in the WISSOTA Midwest Mods with another victory in the class Friday.

Thirteen WISSOTA Hornets were at Fiesta City Speedway on Friday night for the Hornet special. Louwagie led the entire feature for his second win of the year. William Lange advanced three spots to second, while eighth-starter Adam VanDerostyne was third. Thomas Kruger and Adam Throener completed the top five.

Tofte led the entire WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature for his second straight win. He was chased across the finish line by Tyler Weinmann in second. Seventeenth-starter Ryan Flaten charged to third at the checkered flag, Tim Kanten was fourth and Justin Bjorklund rounded out the top five.

Alex Grinager took the lead at the beginning of the WISSOTA Street Stock feature. On lap five, Coltyn Schuler drove by for the top spot. Grinager later regained the lead before Mike Jans took over the top spot with four laps to go. Jans drove on to get his third win of the season and second in a row. Justin Vogel, Grinager, Schuler and Landon Albertson were top-five finishers.

Travis Scott took the lead to start the WISSOTA Super Stock feature, before Dexton Koch took the top spot during lap three, and drove off with the feature win. Eighth-starter Karter Reents picked his way forward to second ahead of Ryan Satter, who completed the podium. Dylan Kromschroeder and Colsten Schultz rounded out the top five.

Koch then returned to the track and led the entire WISSOTA Late Model feature for the first Late Model win of his career. Jack Koranda, Jordan Tollakson, Ryan Schaufler and Damin Eilers completed the top five.

Justin Erp took the lead to start the Pure Stock feature, before Ashton Martin drove by into the lead on lap four. Erp regained the lead on the very next lap, and held off Carter Rice in the final laps to win his second straight feature.
