Anderson, Anderson, Koehler and Redetzke roll past rivals Friday night at Red Cedar Speedway
MENOMONIE, WI (August 14) - Ashley Anderson, Mike Anderson, Nick Koehler, and Jesse Redetzke were WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners during Bob Hays Season Championship night.
Thomas Hauert and Avery Anderson led the field of WISSOTA Super Stocks to green, with Anderson grabbing the early advantage. Hauert and Redetzke battled side by side for second, before Redetzke edged Anderson by .037 to net the top spot the next time by.
Redetzke pulled away in the lead, as Anderson came under fire from Alex Myers, who had moved into third. That fight for position lasted for several laps, with Myers scored in the spot with seven to go. A caution then fell and the field was regrouped.
Back under green, Redetzke stepped out on the field again, with Myers behind by about .8 seconds. Anderson was under heavy pressure from ninth-starter Ron Mahder, before another yellow for a spun racer brought the field back together with five to go.
Redetzke continued to lead back under green, as Myers, Anderson and Ron Mahder were nearly three wide coming into turn four to complete the lap. Catastrophe struck in turn one, as it appeared Myers made contact with the right front of Anderson, and Anderson was spun, collecting Cory Mahder and a host of others behind. Anderson was sent to the back.
Back under green Ron Mahder shot into second past Myers, while Cory Mahder was fourth and Hauert was fifth. That’s the way they stayed in the remaining laps, with Redetzke grabbing the victory ahead of Ron Mahder, Myers, Cory Mahder and Hauert in the top five.
Nick Koehler (Jalen Kitchner Photo)
After problems early in the WISSOTA Midwest Mod class, Nick Koehler was the early leader. Brandon Jensen slipped into second ahead of Joe Swearingen, Brady Larson and Black Adams in the top five.
After a restart with Koehler in the lead, Adams jumped to the high side and moved into third behind Jensen before another caution for a spun racer kept the race at a stop-and-go pace.
Adams moved by Jensen into second when the field was back underway, and set off after Koehler. They were side by side coming to the start finish line with 11 to go, but Koehler was able to pull away ever so slightly as they set up to get by lapped traffic with nine to go.
The yellow was back out then for another spun competitor and the field reset.
With the field back under green, Koehler led by about .3 seconds ahead of now Shadow Kitchner, who was making his move methodically along the low side. Adams was still riding the top line in third, while Jake Stai and Swearingen were fourth and fifth farther back. Jensen pulled off and out of the race. Another caution fell for a spun racer in turn two once more, with just two laps to go.
The field reached its time limit, and was given one shot to complete the feature. Back under green Adams worked past Kitchner for second, but couldn’t catch Koehler as Koehler secured the victory by a little less than a full second. Kitchner, 12th-starter Stai and Swearingen were the top five finishers.

Calvin Iverson and Shane Halopka brought the field to green for the WISSOTA Modifieds, with Iverson the early leader before debris - a fuel cell - on the track brought out the caution flag.
Iverson led the field back to green, with pressure from Mike Anderson and Kennedy Swan. Kaden Blaeser was using the high side and was fourth, and then drove by Swan to third. Halopka was fifth with five laps complete.
Anderson began to make inroads on Iverson’s lead, with Blaeser pressuring Anderson for second as both drivers searched for a way past Iverson. Anderson hit a hole in turns three and four, and Blaeser shot past along the high side for second. Blaeser quickly caught Iverson and raced by into the lead with eight to go. A caution then fell for a stalled racer along the backstretch.
Back under green Blaeser edged ahead of Anderson, who took second when Iverson’s attempt at muscling away the lead failed. Blaeser’s lead was nearly 2 seconds, as Anderson held second. Halopka shot across several rough areas in turns three and four in an attempt to take second, and into the side of Iverson, spinning to a stop just past turn four. Blaeser left the track for a mechanical issue and returned to the back with four laps left.
Anderson inherited the lead with Iverson and Swan hot on his heels when the field took the green once more. A caution for a get-together between Jake Hartung and Blaeser brought the field to a halt.
Another wreck on the ensuing restart ended with Iverson upside down between turns one and two.
The race was called complete as the cleanup continued and Anderson was scored the winner. Swan, Hartung, A.J. Roschen and Ben Hillman were scored in the top five.

Chad Mahder and Ashley Anderson led the WISSOTA Late Models to the green flag. Anderson held a slight advantage off the cushion ahead of Mahder, while John Kaanta was third. Brett Shafer was fourth, with pressure from A.J. Diemel in fifth. Prochnow used the high side to move by Diemel and Shafer, and Diemel jumped to the high side to do the same past Shafer, completing the task a couple of laps later. Diemel then used the low side to drive by Prochnow to fourth a lap later.
Out front Anderson built more than a 1 second cushion ahead of Mahder, who himself had a nearly 5 second advantage ahead of Kaanta. Just past the halfway point Diemel supplanted Kaanta for third. A caution for a stalled Shafer brought the field back together.
Anderson was the leader once more with seven laps left on the board, with Mahder and Diemel side by side for second. Diemel was right to Mahder’s bumper, but could not gain along the high side.
Anderson was on cruise control out front in the remaining laps and took the win ahead of Mahder, Diemel, Prochnow and Kaanta in the top five.
