Hauff, Murner and Torres tackle WISSOTA competition and Sprints add some spice Friday at Black Hills

RAPID CITY, SD (July 25) - Darin Hauff, Troy Murner, and Tristan Torres reigned over their WISSOTA Dirt Track Series foes Friday night at Black Hills Speedway, as the trio collected wins in sanctioned action at the Rapid City, South Dakota speedplant.

Hauff started fourth on the grid in the WISSOTA Midwest Mods, battling for the lead around the midpoint of the race with Jayme Peterson and grabbing the top spot for good on lap eight. Tony Leiker slipped past Peterson with a handful of laps to go for runner-up honors. Brennan Davis and Chandler Aspelin completed the top five.

Murner was the early leader in the WISSOTA Street Stock feature, before Leonard Ferguson got by for the top spot about lap four. Ferguson led until two laps to go, when Murner made his way back to the lead and then moved out to a 4-second lead in the closing laps to garner the victory. Ferguson, Warren Pourrier, Jr., Jaren Puhlman and Cole Phillips were top-five finishers.

In the WISSOTA Mod Fours, Torres’ win came in the final two laps of the feature. He moved by leader Dean Larson and hung on by .297 seconds in the closing lap to take home the victory, his first of the season. Larson, Gatlin Comer, Chad Funt and Rob Arlaud completed the top five.
