Brauer bags up $1000 for stealing Street Stock win while Stearns and Nelson double up with Saturday scores at Miller, SD

MILLER, SD (July 19) - Saturday night Miller Central Speedway hosted a $1,000-to-win WISSOTA Midwest Modified special, in addition to Kids’ Night, for its second-straight night of action at the Miller, South Dakota oval. The track also hosted the Never Alone Minnesota Hornet drivers for the second night.

WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Mike Stearns, Kolton Brauer, Brock Gronwold, Trevor Nelson, and Brennon Weight.

In the WISSOTA Late Models, Stearns started on the pole and led from flag to flag to secure the victory, his second-straight win of the weekend in the class. Russell Beadle, Rich Thomas, and Brandon Fisher were the remaining cars to finish in the top four.

Gronwold scored the victory in the WISSOTA Modifieds, topping Friday night winner Dylan Zabel for the victory. Adam Brotherton improved three spots to finish third, Garrett Gross was fourth, and Stearns completed the top five.

Brauer’s win in the WISSOTA Street Stocks was a flag-to-flag effort, as he drove to victory lane ahead of seventh-starter Grady Myers, ninth-starter Jayden Bogh, Wade Tirrel and Levi Randt in the top five.

Weight started from the front row in the WISSOTA Midwest Mods, scooting past race-long leader Lorin Johnson with about six to go and cruising out to a lead of 2.627 seconds at the checkered flag. Johnson, 10th-starter Landyn Randt, Nick Perry and 12th-starter Todd Stark completed the top five.

Nelson led from start to finish for his second-straight WISSOTA Super Stock victory at Miller. He was followed to the checkered flag by Austin Arbogast, Brad Kopecky, Wyatt Schweigert and Kenneth Clements in the top five.

In the visiting Hornets class, Jerik Stabler scored the victory, while Cody Songer was the winner in the track’s Pure Stock class.
