Rice Lake racers and fans ready for Firecracker, K-Runk Memorial and DRC Street Stock Tour
By Ed Reichert
RICE LAKE, WI (June 23) – Everybody associated with Rice Lake Speedway is more than ready to get the 2025 racing season at Rice Lake Speedway back into high gear.
July 3 is always one of the most anticipated races of the year at Rice Lake, this year falling on a Thursday. Along with a full five-class program of racing, one of the finest fireworks displays in the area will be shot off at dusk. The new owners of the speedway proved last year they are fully invested in a great fireworks display, and fans will enjoy that once again on July 3.
The return of the K-Runk Memorial, a special event for the Midwest Modified class paying $2,323 to the winner, will also be held that night. It is also $123 just to start the main event. The ownership group of Rice Lake is thrilled to be partnering with the Runkle family to honor Kyle and to bring this race back to its home track where the first memorial race was held in 2017. Nick Koehler, the defending champion, has been the winningest driver at the track so far this year. Koehler is actually looking for his third-straight win in this event. This event is being presented by Pro Powder and emr. The rain date for this race is July 5.
And, for the first time ever, Rice Lake Speedway will be hosting the Dirt Race Central (DRC) Street Stock Tour and that series will come to the speedway on Saturday night, July 12. A large and loyal group of Street Stock drivers follow this tour, with many out-of-state drivers expected to be on hand that night. They’ll be racing for a top prize of $1,000 and DRC series points, as well as testing out their cars for the Street Stock Little Dream, the nationally known race held by the track this year on July 29.
All four of the other track divisions will be racing a full program July 12 as well.
