HURON, SD (June 27) - Dakota State Fair Speedway hosted the Buffalo Wild Wings King of Wings series Saturday night, with support from the WISSOTA-sanctioned Midwest Modifieds and Street Stocks.

Both WISSOTA divisions had first-time winners at the Huron oval during their feature races, including Dawson Zabel and Joe Arndt.

In his second visit of the season to the Huron oval, Arndt earned the victory in the 15-lap WISSOTA Street Stock main event.

Arndt challenged for the victory during his first trip to Huron on June 6, but ended up with a runner-up finish to Chris Serr.

Arndt’s brother, Dylan, started on the pole of Saturday’s feature race and led the first three laps.

Using the low side of the track out of turn two on lap four, Arndt made the pass for the lead on his brother and brought Serr with him. He held Serr off for the first win of his career at the Huron track.

“It was fun. The track was great,” Arndt said from victory lane. “These bigger tracks are awesome. I love it.”

Current points leader Jayden Bogh was third, Maria Broksieck was fourth and James Hoing completed the top five.

Dawson Zabel also earned the first DSFS victory of his career on Saturday in the Midwest Modified division. He used the high side in turn two to pass Jace Baloun for the lead on the third lap of the 15-lap feature race, which went caution free.

“It was really great. We’ve got things going good,” Zabel said of claiming the win. “I’ve struggled here, so it's nice to get a win.”

Baloun finished in second, while Tracy Johnson, who earned the win a week earlier, was third. Luke Johnson was fourth and Jake Wranek was fifth.

Although he had never visited victory lane at Dakota State Fair Speedway before Saturday night, Mark Dobmeier of Grand Forks, ND has been a frequent visitor to it throughout his career.

Dobmeier reached the 200-win milestone during the second of three co-sanctioned events as part of Buffalo Wild Wings King of Wings series on Saturday at the Huron oval.
