Throwback night feature winners at Grand Rapids include Broking, Labelle, Blevins, Smith and McLynn

GRAND RAPIDS, MN (May 29) - Grand Rapids Speedway fans and drivers celebrated Throwback Night on May 29, inviting those in attendance to celebrate and pay homage to days-gone-by.

WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Bob Broking, Cameron Labelle, Michael Blevins, Sr., Jake Smith and Tristen McLynn.

In the WISSOTA Pure Stocks, Austin Carlson was the early leader, under heavy pressure from Eric Crosby. As Crosby’s machine began to show smoke, Jake Smith drove past for second and took off after Carlson. Smith used the inside line to drive by about the halfway point of the race. Smith drove off after a mid-race restart, and onto victory lane. Carlson, Crosby, Dustin Puffe and Alex Berg completed the top five.

Blevins, Sr. used his pole starting spot to his advantage in the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, grabbing the early lead ahead of front-row starter Skyler Smith. Throughout a caution-filled affair, Blevins held the lead for the remaining 19 laps to the checkered flag. He was followed across the stripe by Smith, Mikey Blevins, Justin Feltus, and Sam Blevins.

The WISSOTA Super Stocks were led on track by Cameron Labelle and Alexa Sparby. Labelle was the early leader ahead of Kevin Salin, as drivers were two and three-wide for position throughout the pack. Salin got past for the lead with several laps in the books, before Labelle fought back on the outside, followed closely by Justin Barsness. Labelle regained the lead as Barsness and Salin argued over second, with Barsness gaining the spot a couple of laps later.

Labelle continued to lead past the halfway point, and he hung on during the final lap to nip Barness at the line for the win. Barsness, Chaston Finckbone, Dalton Carlson, and Salin completed the top five.

Bob Broking was the early leader of the WISSOTA Modified feature by a hair, as he and Blake Adams battled for the top spot. Tyler Kintner was close behind in third.

Broking set a torrid pace out front, leaving Adams and Kintner to fight for second. Ryan Jensen was fourth and T.J. Heinle was fifth before the halfway point of the feature.

Adams had pulled back away from Kintner and worked his way back into contention for the lead around the halfway point of the race, but did not have enough to get by Broking during the final lap. Broking took the win ahead of Adams, Kintner, Jensen, and Heinle in the top five.

McLynn started outside of the third row in the WISSOTA Hornets. With four to go, McLynn moved to the outside line and drove by race leader Mark Gangl to capture the victory. Gangl was second ahead of Mikayla LaBarge, who also led several laps of the feature. Deb Graves and ninth-starter McKenna Folstad in the top five.

In the Northern Renegade feature, Chris Lewis took home the win ahead of eighth-starter Ken Hron and Zach Olson on the podium.
