Pederson pulls away from premier Late Model rivals at Norman County Raceway special

ADA, MN (June 18) - WISSOTA Late Models joined the usual card of speedsters at the 4/10 mile Norman County Raceway on Thursday, and a large contingent of the premier class signed in for action.

Joey Pederson put his #7P at the head of the field and scored the Late Model win.

Corey Storck made a rare visit pay off with a WISSOTA Midwest Mod win Thursday as well.

Joey Pederson was a heat winner in the WISSOTA Late Models, along with Jesse Teunis and Dustin Strand, to kick off the night’s action. In the headliner, Joey Pederson started on the front row along with Nick Corbett. Jason Strand and Cole Schill took the green right behind them.

At the end of the 25-lapper, Joey Pederson grabbed the checkers ahead of Schill and Dustin Strand, who started fifth. Jason Strand finished fourth followed by hard charger Brad Seng, who blasted his way to fifth place after starting deep in the field in the 15th spot.

Others who made impressive gains during the feature included Lucas Rodin (19th to 10th), Kelsi Pederson (17th to 10th), Jamie Dietzler (22nd to 11th) and Dan Dowling (24th to 14th).

The WISSOTA Midwest Mod field was also very stout and included 21 competitors.

Storck had the advantage of starting on the pole, and he used that to finish up front as well. Sixth starter Riese Stenberg chased Storck to the line but settled for second place. Kenna Breidenbach started and finished third while Aaron Blacklance came from eighth to fourth. Jory Berg rounded out the top five while Brennan Schmidt gained six places from his 12th spot on the starting grid.

Two IMCA classes were also on the card. In the Hobby Stocks, Brad Jones topped a nine-car feature field and Andy Wagner won the Northern Sport Mod feature.

Tye Wilke scored a clean sweep in the INEX Legends class.
