Williamson wins Mod main at Thunder City as Chernosky scores in Supers, Vernon victorious in Mid Mods and Hess handles Street Stocks

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO (June 4) - Tanner Williamson, Cole Chernosky, Trey Hess, Jimmy Owen, and Tyler Vernon topped their WISSOTA Dirt Track Series features Wednesday night at Thunder City Speedway, as the track hosted Tractor Trailer Service night.

Williamson started from the front row of the WISSOTA Modified feature, slipped back to third, and regrouped to take the lead around lap five. He led the remaining 13 laps en route to the victory, the second of his 2025 season overall. Chernosky improved four spots to second, American visitor Brandon Copp picked his way forward from eighth to third, Curtis Stieh was fourth, and Riley Matthews completed the top five.

In the WISSOTA Super Stocks, Chernosky methodically moved his way through the field from eighth at the start, taking the lead with just a few laps to go and moving out to an advantage of just over a second at the finish. He was followed across the stripe by fellow fourth-row starter Rick Simpson, Danny Young, John Garrity and Tyler Kostecki in the top five.

Vernon started from the front row of the WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature, taking the lead from polesitter David Simpson just before the halfway point. He then drove off to a healthy near-six-second lead through the remaining 10 laps on his way to the win. Simpson, Michael Shalley, Tanner Ulakovic and Bill Speak were top-five finishers.

Hess was impressive once again in the WISSOTA Street Stocks, taking the lead from his sixth starting spot five laps into the feature and leading the remaining 13 laps to garner the victory. A.J. Kellar, 13th-starter Nathan Henny, 10th-starter Cory Ward and Kathryn Stieh completed the top five.

And in the WISSOTA Hornets, Jimmy Owen capitalized on his front-row starting spot, leading all 10 laps for his first victory of 2025. Jesse Owen picked his way forward from eighth to grab second, while Selena Owen was third. Rick Breukelman and Martin Bolt rounded out the top five.
